According to football agent Morris Pagniello, speaking to Mexican outlet Medio Tiempo, Tottenham are preparing an opening bid of £34m for Feyenoord and Mexican international Santiago Gimenez.

“Santi is one of the top 10 players in Europe, of the strikers there are because there are few and now with the departure of many strikers to Saudi Arabia, there are few on the market,” he said.

“Then even Tottenham (became interested), many clubs; I have a friend who trains there and there are many clubs that would like to have Santi this season.”

Don't know who he is, but given our previous link to Arne Slot, it would be fairly certain that we have watched Feyenoord a fair bit, so i can see where we might have gained an appreciation for the player.

Also i did notice Herc had recently mentioned something about a South American player, and if his geography is as bad as mine then Mexico would (apparently incorrectly) fall under that category !

Regardless of whether this is true or not, I'm actually surprised there weren't any links earlier in the window. Santi has been crucial to Feyenoord's recent success. I'm Mexican so I've been following Santi's career closely (like everyone else in the country)

He's two-footed, good on the air, has great work rate, is strong and able to hold up the ball. He's not the quickest, but isn't sluggish at all. Even with his build, he's quite good in tight spaces and most importatly he does not really on service and is able to create his own chances. Is he ready for the PL? Hard to say tbh, but the guy has been on a very steady rise his entire career, so I've no doubt he could become the next Jimenez. One thing to point out is that he moved to the Netherlands even though he would've earned more money in Mexico, which speaks about his mentality and ambitions at such a young age. I'd be frankly over the moon having him here, but I'm obviously biased

He was heavily linked with Benfica who, knowing them, would prob sell him for triple of what he's worth now in a year or two.

Nothing screams quality quite like a heavily caveated quote saying so many players have left for Saudi that he can now be considered one of the top 10 strikers....

This would've been far more believable if Slot came in as our manager.

Watched a couple of Feyenoord games during peak Slot-excitement when this guy was being touted as a Kane replacement and he didn't impress me at all tbh.

Seems like he has all the qualities to boss the Dutch league but no standout qualities a striker needs to make it at the top end of the Prem. Kind of a jack of all trades master of none.

Gives me very strong Vinny Janssen vibes.

Thanks for the info. Sounds good apart from the mobility. I think we need someone with some pace up front in this system.
