Is it just me, or does taking the ball into the corner never actually waste time? Usually they get the ball back quicker than they would have anyway.

Yeah but when you do it you have your men behind the ball and it eliminates the chance of the opposition winning the ball in a dangerous area

Close win, but that's the most impressed I've been watching a Spurs side since Newcastle away last winter. The passing was crisp, the effort united, press intense, and possibly most importantly the communication was on point. Very, very pleased with the performance from our Spurs today.

positives:

1- 3 points
2- we saw the correct pressing for 3/4 of the match
3- we saw the correct tempo of play for 5/6 of match
4- see 1-3 :singing:

still a work in progress, but looked good in a tough match today (y)

We pressed better as a team today, than I've seen from us since pre-season.

Hopefully we can continue that trend.

Southampton allowed us a fair bit of space behind their midfield, lets hope we can crack open more defensive teams at home now too.

My stream went straight to the Chelsea game. 2-0 blue scum. Lovely day.
I predicted we would be above Arsenal after today!!

I really hope Naughton is OK. At least there's a break now so hopefully he'll recover :)

Mate please be patient.

We've just beaten, and deservedly so, the in form team in the league.

All the bitching before hand was a joke. Fans have to be patient.
I'm not being pessimistic I'm just pointing out there are plenty of problems with that performance.

It was a definite improvement from West Brom but we still look devoid of attacking threat.

Look at our actual chances today over 90 minutes.

I just don't see this as cause for celebration, it's nice to gain the points but wasn't a convincing win.

Mason and Capoue showed they have the makings of a veeery good midfield partnership.

Danny Rose again showed he has been our stand out performer this season along with Lloris.

We played decently and I think that we deserved the victory, They missed a great chance late in the second half whist Chaldi was very unlucky not to score. COYS!!!!

Southampton are a very good side, 3 worthy points.

A little bit better pressing, a little bit sharper on the break, a little more fluid. Still long way to go but I think we would all have taken that before the game

Sorry, this performance has been an improvement in terms of tempo but it's still way below par in many other aspects

The pressing has improved for sure but it still is too over the top and in-cohesive, we need to pick our moments when to press and do it as a unit.

We have still created next to nothing and half our chances were pot shots... We really need to work on movement off the ball and I'm not sure Adebayor works in this system.

Three points is three points and I can't have too many complaints but I still feel City will give us a hiding the way we are playing.

We were a missed sitter by Mane away from drawing this game despite being the better team.

Like the look of Mason again today though.

We're were also an inch inside the post of going in at half time 2-0 up and the game would have been over.

Definite improvement - yes there are flaws and we still need to work on passing and set pieces but it all takes time.

Your hatred for Soldado aside, please explain what Adebayor did in the games against West Brom and Arsenal to warrant keeping his place in the team for the next match, @Gaz_Gammon

Tit...

I wear a The Soldier shirt when i go to games.

Fucking incredible some people on here saying our own fans "hate" any of our own players!

Act your age not your shoe size.
