Good win against a form team. In patches we did well, mostly first half, and need to build on them. Seemed a bit more urgency with and without the ball which is what is needed every week from now on.

Nice to see the poor refereeing decisions go against us in a game we win. Well done Poch and the boys, although a considerable amount of hard work still to do.

Adebayor was absolutely abysmal once again. Hugo's kicking (possibly his only weakness) was excellent today. And I loved Capoue's reaction to the final whistle. Fast becoming one of my favourite players that boy.

Well done Tottenham, thanks very much!

In fact, I think that's the first Spurs game I've enjoyed watching for a long time. Nowhere near perfect and plenty to work on, but that is sign for optimism rather than pessimism surely?

Much better all round, still one or two jitters at the back but this win with a clean sheet will hopefully get the confidence back in the defense.

Better but a bit of panic at the end. Interesting to see Southampton initially target our full backs at the start of the game. We need more quality in that area. The front four were better and somehow our central midfield managed stop theirs dominating. Townsend rather than Dembele may have given them a bit more to think about - or at least more pace.

Pretty good performance, but not great by a long shot. Lots to work on. Happy with the three points of course.

Excellent win against a very good team on top form. Thoroughly enjoyed that.

Everyone turned up today - including the fans - and it makes all the difference.

Capoue and Mason excellent but Mason my MoM for his simple, one-touch, forward minded play. Lovely.

He's the second name down on the teamsheet for me after lloris and is our most important outfield player because he shapes the way we play with how he plays.

Take that koeman you Minecraft head, and saints fans...:finger:

Nice 3 points of the back of an unconvincing performance.

clear to see that there is still some work to be done for the team to play as one unit.
Too many silly mistakes still being made in both attack and defence, and our front 4 really aren't looking very fluid.

But hey ho, as long as we can keep racking up the points while we settle in to the system.

Oh, and another thing, Vertonghen is playing very well again. Still upset he didn't sign a new contract but, as he said, he has 4 years left...

To be fair to Ade, he ran himself into the ground. At least that's what I saw. Don't think our other strikers would have faired much better today.

Really happy with that. Fought for everything and definite signs the system is starting to gel with the players.

I'm not being pessimistic I'm just pointing out there are plenty of problems with that performance.

It was a definite improvement from West Brom but we still look devoid of attacking threat.

Look at our actual chances today over 90 minutes.

I just don't see this as cause for celebration, it's nice to gain the points but wasn't a convincing win.

I think we did enough to win the game, Chadli should of scored to.

Far from perfect but a step in the right direction. Please don't pile pressure on a situation that doesn't need it.

Get behind the team and accept this is going to take time.

Better performance and a good result, that's progress IMO when you consider the opposition.

Nobody is suggesting that we start over reacting, it is what it is...a good result.

Enjoy it.
