Davies has played 2 games in s week and isn't Walker.

I would have bet on Sissoko starting. But I expected him to be in midfield with Dembele.

He and Son give us pace on both flanks against Sunderland's slowish defenders.

But I thought Janssen would start.

I'm not one to moan normally about our starting formation and how we lineup. But that XI has me worried.

When a team puts up a block then one way through is to bulldoze the fuck out of it.

All the top teams in the world have creative, intelligent players who can break down stubborn defences as it's the most effective way. Bulldozing through them is not.

But we've seen that in Poch's narrow system, those lock pickers find it hard against compact sitting defences. Maybe Sissoko driving past players around the box will open some things up...

I've seen this movie before - it starts with us having 60%+ possession, opposition resolute and we desperately need divine intervention from Poch/the bench to rectify what is a poor starting line up with emphasis on physical prowess over technical nous.

So for all of Poch's words about rating CCV , he puts Dier into CD and leaves CCV out of the squad completely.
Wimmer should have replaced Verts imo, instead of playing him out of position at left back. Very odd.
