England play tonight, and as there's no other footy for awhile, I will be watching every game I can. I thought this could be a thread to post your views, and any players you've seen that you think are good ect ect.

I was really looking forward to this tournament but now I'm just dissapointed that Tom Carrol didn't make the squad and Townsend and Rose are banned.
That leaves Caulker, but I might watch a game or two.

Rose isn't banned, he's in the squad

He's in the squad but isn't he suspended for the first match because of his red card against Serbia? Caulker was initially suspended for two games but they were both rescinded. Adam Smith is also in the squad, although he's probably behind Nathanial Clyne for the right back position.

Still bemused that Carroll or Ross Barkley didn't get picked ahead of Jonjo Shelvey.

I'm a bit 'meh' about it all. But as usual, could be a good scouting opportunity for young talent.

Nielsen who just came on for Norway had a trial with us couple of years ago.
As did Nir Biton, the Israeli captain that now has gone off. Biton were for a long time with Man City before his stay with Spurs

I'm going to assume that nobody's watching Israel - Norway right now, but a quick summary at 80 minutes:

Israel are shit. I mean really shit. Not one proper good player in the side, giving the ball away constantly, making silly errors .... yet they lead 2-1.

They got a soft penalty from a corner that should never have been given (an Israeli headed it out). Norway equalised with a good strike, but just before half time had a man sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity. Debatable but probably correct all in all.

Even with 10 men Norway dominated the first 20 minutes of the second half and have hit the woodwork three times today, but Israel hit then with a sucker punch at 70 minutes.

Norway have been the better side and will before the England game get four players drafted in who are currently with the A-squad preparing for the WC qualifier with Albania on Friday, including Blackburn striker Joshua King.

That England team doesn't look very strong...

EDIT: Israel do have one good player: Their goalie's not bad.

Veratti, Marrone, Insigne and Immobile all starting for 'gli Azzurri'. Very promising for the future.
