The disallowed goal was ridiculous. The Italian players played on fine until the ball hit the net then they went crazy appealing for the "free kick" and the ref buckled it.

He has had a shocker when you take in to account Italy's blatant pen first half!

Peace has done the typical 'English' thing, picked all the big lads and ignored technical ability (Carroll)

Just imagine we could have a midfield trio of Wilshere, Hughes and Carroll

Pearce is somewhat restricted by player pull outs and club power.

Where are Hughes, Wilshire, Jones, Shaw and co? Would love to see us field our best under 21 side for one of these tournaments just once.

I think Shaw was in the original squad but pulled out because of injury. Not sure about Hughes, he's got a couple of u21 caps though. Arsenal players are forbidden from playing for the u21s and Jones was too busy looking like a buffoon against Ireland and Brazil. The most glaring omission is Tom Carroll.

Quality save, and a deserved victory. Unfortunate for England, were dangerous at times. Should qualify when the better players are ready.

The problem for England is they need to start thinking more like their continental brothers in Europe when it comes to youth level. As much as these young English players have pace and strength there is still clearly a lack of technique. Until this is taken seriously, like it is in Italy, Spain, Germany and Holland, England will never produce a truly world beating side. Once you have that philosophy of football in place they will then be able to take that into the adult professional game.

I thought Redmond and Chalobah did well coming on, deserve to start next match IMO

Jones has no business being in centre mid for me. Sooner he starts full time at centre half the better.

Pearce and the FA need to grow a pair.

Hughes hasnt been playing as well as he did in that game against Leeds and has been injured alot, Jones called to senior team.

TBH he is no way near experienced enough/good enough to be a CB just yet at a high level

Watched tonight's game and find it hard to say anything positive about the England team.

The way Shelvey and Henderson played I think our top 5 placing will not be under threat from Liverpool.

The other disappointment was Buttland in goal, who looked very poor.
