I will get excited when I see something to get excited about. Seeing Soldado and Lamela in a restaurant is not exciting at all, seeing balls hit the back of the net will do it for me.

Most of us are excited about next season. After we spank WH in the opener, the excitement will quadruple.

After the let down of last season I've tried not to get excited or optimistic about next season, but I just can't help it.

Supporting Spurs is like a drug addiction and I can't wait to get my next fix.

I feel a bit of a comparison to the summer of 09. After a disappointing season, most fans seem to be content with just watching some good football, and a place in the top 6 in the season to come.

Our buys that summer underwhelmed me a bit (Crouch, Bassong and the 2 Kyles), but it was really the players that we had bought or bought back in the season before, that started to sparkle, e.g. Modric. After we beat Pool 2-1 in the opening match of the season and then went on to win the following 3, you could sense the belief coming back.
I will also never forget that beautiful April-May run-in, where we beat the Scum (effectively ending any chance of them winning the league) and Chelscum over the course of 4 days, and then went on to beat City and secure 4th. Simply beautiful.

If we could repeat something similar to this, I would be ecstatic.

The omens are there, we have some quality buys from last year hopefully ready to make their breakthrough, a winable opening 4-5 games, and apparently another piss-stained Home-shirt too (y)

(Must add that I love that shirt even though it's ugly, as it reminds me of exactly that season!)

This sequence resulted in the happy accident known better as my first daughter!

The best day of the year for me is always the first game of the season, so much hope and dreams it has been this way for decades and i guess it always will for me.

I hate what football has turned into ( the money, money grabbing agents and players, gobshite managers, Sky and what it has done to football etc) But i LOVE Spurs.

I'm not really expecting anything more than a 5th/6th place finish but I'm still really excited about the coming season.

As far as potentially getting into the top 4 goes, I'm not really bothered by that but if we play some decent stuff this season then I'll be more excited about our CL chances in the 2015/2016 season

Getting £50,000/£60,000 a week paid holiday for a few months, I'd certainly expect them to smile and laugh.
I wouldn't read anything into those pictures.

Liverpool seem to be doing an us - Can, Lallana, Lambert, Markovic & Origi all could be fantastic signings, but they let in 50 goals last season and only Can is a defensive minded player. I trust Rodgers more than I trust the fractured AVB/Levy/Baldini threeway with no lieuway though, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Alexis Sanchez is going to fucking rip the league up, and Arsenal have needed a defensive midfielder since Vieira left. They'll be unstoppable next season.

Manchester United might have the World Cup winning coach, and have finally covered their left back and creative midfielder issues as well as any other big money signings they may make - Rodriguez, Vidal, whoever.

Chelsea & Manchester City are obviously going to be their usual efficient selves.

We should be nervous of all of these. We should fear all of these.

However, what I'd most like from this year is that we don't compare ourselves to all of these. We do it whenever we're doing well or whenever we're doing badly and for once, I just want us to take pride in being the best we can be. Attempt to play winning attractive football and take pride or solace in not our goal difference, not our possession percentage or the space between us and our rivals, but the feeling that we're living up to what we believe we can be. We're not going to match the sides around us in terms of cash reserves or fanbase, so let's be clever and let's be passionate and let's be fucking Tottenham Hotspur again. I've missed us.

What would happen to Poch if the following happens: by some kind of fluke all season, we achieve top 3 at the end of next season without adding any significant player. Levy thinks we're good enough with the squad, and we again add nothing to it, while Levy demands a top 2 finish. Then our luck run out and we hover near the relegation zone all year.

Will Levy fire Poch then or invest in significant upgrades and gives Poch a third season?

For the first time in my living memory I really am not bothered with who we sign. I honestly believe we have a fantastic squad, left back aside, that massively underachieved last season. Hopefully with a manager who knows what he's doing, please Poch let it be you, and our new signings a year wiser I'm convinced we will kick on. West Ham away is the perfect game for us to show we mean business. COYS!!!

I'm excited. New manager, a manager with whom I've nothing to complain about beforehand. Even if I liked AVB up untill the day before he was sacked he always had that dark cloud of his time with Chelsea above his head. I'm also excited about some players that I think will really prove their worth this year, players like Holtby, Lamela and belive it or not, Rose!

Your Absolutley right we will never compete with any of these so as long as we can be the best of the rest and nail down fifth that will have to do.
