Last season was my least favourite as a Spurs fan. I've seen seasons where we've been worse, much worse, but I just didn't enjoy last season.

Our best player left and we had too many new faces to feel a connection to anyone.

Our players didn't seem a good fit for AVB's targeted style of play and the football was dull then the most hateable of Spurs manager's took over.

I said before we hired Poch that he seems a good fit for us but might be to inexperienced for the job. I think our players will thrive more under the higher tempo game of Poch and he got the likes of Lambert, Lallana and Rodriguez playing with intelligent movement that I think some of our players will like.

I'm not thinking about top 4, constantly being obsessed with finishing 4th has dragged a lot of the enjoyment out of supporting the team. I just want to see us playing some good football, playing with joy and see the players work well as a team.

I'm more confident of that happening under Poch than his 2 predecessors but will wait for the action to start before getting carried away.

Not excited about the season just yet. Right now it's like the cliffhanger to a season finale. Everyone can speculate, and get excited about what might happen next, only for the reality to be a bit of a let-down that is never as good as what you'd imagined in your head.

What I'm looking forward to is (hopefully) being able to enjoy watching Spurs again, without massive expectations about our players or performances. I'm hopeful, but not expectant, which makes me feel pretty good about the prospect of watching us compete again. Hopeful that Lamela and Soldado will prove the doubters wrong. Hopeful that Pochettino will prove me wrong. Hopeful that the Lane can get its atmosphere back.

I should also be able to get up to a few games this season, which is something I always enjoy, regardless of how well we play and whether we win.

Overall I feel very positive about Spurs, but to say I am excited would be overstating things.

I'll try and remember to bump the thread around Christmas time when we're in search of a new manager

The return with Redknapp as manager and Sherwood learning his trade under him is going to make for a triffic 2nd half of the season.

For me us fucking it up each time we try for champions League as taken the enjoyment out of it for me and yes the manager appointment is a big worry for me too many are hoping he can replicate Southampton mmm tough one.

For me it's like no one enjoys the journey anymore, the enjoyment is in the finishing place.

Liverpool played more like Swansea but with better players under Rodgers. If we can play a similar style to Southampton but with better players then we're onto a winner.

I'm looking forward to it. Always do ! Some constancy and trying to up our game against the top 4/5 instead of capitulating and i'll be a happy bunny this season.

I'm really optimistic. If Pochettino works out, this squad is more than capable of doing great things.

I think more than anything I just really, really hope we don't see another pasting.

Last season was poor, we played poorly, didn't score many, and many of our players misfired badly. But it was the thrashings that really sucked the life out of me - and there were so many of them. So many of them to nil as well, not even a modicum of pride salvaged.

We're not going to set the league alight this year, but if we can play some nice football, look like we actually care, and avoid being smashed again by any of the big sides then that'll at least represent a huge improvement.

I started to feel excited...

Then I took this emotion outside, lined it up in front of all the other emotions and blasted it at point blank with both barrels. Completely obliterated it... Never felt better.

With the competition starting to strengthen I don't think we'll finish in the top 4.

But what we can do is get back to playing some proper football, at least compete with the top sides and have a good run in the cups.

LOL, tongue in cheek? So you weren't being serious when you said you can't wait to see us run out in in the kit? And you didn't say what "Lamela for poty" meant.

The tongue in cheek was aimed at the Lamela POTY comment. The kit is just that new kit signifies a fresh season. I'll explain myself clearer in the future!
