ive been pro levy forever...
but what the fuck was that??????????....
also, is jake livermore better than JJ or even worse is he better than JOH???
not a chance!!...baaaaaad management
Modric - who is here
Hudd - who is getting fitter and was the CM when we finished 4th
Sandro - who is back in training (he said himself)
Parker - player of the year last season
Not a bad midfield when you just need 2 of them
It gives me no pleasure to have been right about Levy's transfer strategy.
We still have a good chance of 4th although I think Cahill would have probably secured it. I expect Liverpool with Bellamy to be the favourites.
Glad to see so many members eyes are finally opened. All that hassle and disruption to sign a player who was available in June for under 10M
So why did it take till deadline day for us to work that out?
Arsenal found Metesacker for 8m. Why couldnt we get someone? Our scouts are awful.
look at it this way
Out : Hutton In : Walker - we take a risk in playing youth
Out : Jenas In : Livermore - Again we promote youth
Out : Palacios : In Parker - We sign writers player of the year and add some experience a winner and some grit and a true box to box player good signing!.
Out : Bentley : In Iago Falque & Townsend!- We try to play youth again!
Out : Keane & Crouch In : Adebayor - Great Upgrade!
So the club get rid of everyone we all wanted shot at and still get slated when we finally promote youth!.

Plenty Enough as we norm play 1 up top!
Plus some youth like Coulibally,Kane,Carroll,Nicholson,
we now have enough for our 25 man squad and its plenty strong enough so stop the fucking bitching and get behind our boys
You wanted a uber striker we got one you wanted a new cm we got one you wanted a centre back we didnt get one woopdy doo bassong was part of the team that finished 4th!
If people put their disappointments aside then, and look at this with a pint half full viewpoint, it is hard not to be very happy about that squad. If we started with this squad last season I reckon we would have had a better shot at getting 4th.
I agree...but am still a tad disappointed.
With this squad we can compete for 4th.
With Cahill and another striker I think we would be favourites. And that should have been achievable.
Had Spurs drew both the Manc games would you still be as disappointed? There has been a general state of uncertainty surrounding so many Spurs players this summer, that with out doubt has cast an unsettling atmosphere within the club.
Now the window is closed everyone can now move on, re-group (we don't always get what we want!!) - and I am sure Harry is more than capable of picking them up and getting the squad back on a winning streak ala 2010. Now with some proven added reinforcements.
Yes.
I'm not knee-jerking.
I have been patient and advocated patience for a couple of years now.
I think we have enough to compete for 4th, and I am really happy that we have put a marker down by not selling any of our top players.
But there is a danger that is could turn into a pyrrhic victory.
The problem is that Levy needs to either hire a DOF or hire a conventional manager who he trusts to conduct transfer business. What we have now is a half-way house, where Levy acts as his own DOF, and doesn't do a great job.
By all accounts, there was money to spend. If a DOF/manager had been allocated funds at the end of May, would we really have failed to sign Cahill at the last minute. Or just sign one striker? I don't think so. It is all about fine margins, and that fine margin (another striker and CB of quality) are the difference between us being able to compete for 4th, which we will be able to do, and being favourites for 4th, which, IMHO, we would have been if we had got those two players.
Welcome to the dark side SP

I feel dirty
Nah, if I'm honest, I have kinda been feeling like that more and more. I jsut don't see any value in knee-jerking. The first thing anyone who disagrees says is that it is knee-jerking. I don't think anyone can accuse me of that.
Time for Levy to either reinstate a DOF system, nomatter the consequences for Redknapp, or go with a conventional manager he trusts to conduct transfer business - no matter the consequences for Redknapp.
