seen a few vids now and he dont look all that. Hope we dont fork out over 10m for him. Doesnt look tenacious and doesnt look great with the ball either. People running past him easy but he seems to have some pace. I'm happy with thudd unless a quality, proven european player becomes available.

surprised we are even looking at a brazillian after the mistakes that gilberto and gomes have made for us

Hmm, I just asked him to compare Sandro to Denilson/Lucas/Anderson, his reply is ..

Sandro is better than Denílson and worse than Lucas (when they were in Brazil). Anderson was not a DM here, so it's hard to compare. He also played mostly in Série B, barely played in Série A.

Anyway, what matters is how Inter value him and how willing Inter are to sell him.

I know that Lucas is very highly rated in Brazil, but :eek:mg:

Half of us havent seen him or heard of him before, so save yourself the bother and stop making ludicrous statements such as how good a backup for palacios he will be, how tough we will become, what a signing it is and what not.

Lets reserve our opinion for when we actually see the guy kick a football in our shirt.

Their may be a good player in their somewhere, but will he settle into the epl?

Time will tell..

If Harry is looking at him as an important addition to the squad then I trust his judgement.

Cheers Val, makes sense what with our new partnership with Inter, my guess is that Dos Santos would go in the other direction, would seem like a fair swap to me!

Dos Santos and Sandro are totally different players, so how would that be a fair swap? Gio is only 19/just about 20, has only started his career in Europe and it will not make sense for him to go back to South America as "someone who couldn't make it in Europe" at this stage!

However, I would not be surprised if Harry wanted to use Gio as part of the deal to get Sandro at reduced fee...

Palacios is arguably our most important player, should we buy the whole Honduran squad? Just because someone comes from a certain nation doesn't mean they are equal in talent to the rest of that nation!

I'm British, but i'm no Steven Gerrard! The leagues arguably have some relevance, but Gomes and Gilberto came from Holland and Germany respectively.

Also, Gomes is a good keeper. He will prove that this season.

worst than Lucas. Whose your man? Fucking Rafa. Lucas is more useless than a vagina at a gay bar.

I think Lucas is being used incorrectly by Rafa, he doesn't suit Liverpool's system at all.

If Sandro is better than Denilson though, that would be quite decent. I think Denilson has done well here and is still improving.

Denilson is a good player. One of the top assisters in the EPL last season too, also chips in with a goal or two.

Lucas looks pretty average at liverpool.

..and gomes is a fucking quality goalkeeper, if you cannot see past his erron spell at the beggining of the season, then you clearly dont know football. I dont even think this is down to a matter of opinion, those with any real sort of football brain can see Gomes is a world class keeper.

Sandro - I dont think anyone on here could make a judgement on him. Who here watches the south american league on a regular basis? Ok, so you have heard of boca juniors and river plate, im not going to get remotely excited until I see the guy kick a ball.

as i have said we have to trust our manager chairman and head scout. If they all love this guy and think he is worth the final fee. Then so be it!

I've seen Sandro play several times and not on television or YouTube, but at the Beira-Rio and for the U21's.
I'm know I'm in the minority with that, but honestly he is a talented player.

Your comment, together with the fact that HR & Co are clearly no mugs, indicates to me that this guy must really have something. Accordingly I would rather go with your opinion and that of the club rather than the "armchair views" expessed by others.

I'm sure that he is. It's just laughable that people who hadn't even heard of him a week ago are making such truly absurd statements about how good he's going to be for us.

Lucas is nowhere near as bad as some are making out atm. 3 weeks ago i saw a few threads on various forums saying he would be a great signing for us, but because he has come in for Alonso and Liverpool have struggled he has automatically got a lot of the blame. I dont blame him at all - he is not like Alonso and should never have replaced him. He is just like Mascherano and that is Liverpools problem. Lucas is still a top player imo
