Looks like another 1 season wonder for us if we can´t turn the season around.....

What? Would you care to share with us one of these many 'one season wonders' that we've had in recent years? We're about 10 games into a season, we've just won 4-1 in the Champions League and you're already resigned to VdV leaving? MENTAL.

I loved seeing his commitment, the sending off was poor judgement by him, but still he wanted to win for the team which was nice to see

I love Gareth Bale but VDV is on a different planet to the rest of our player's.
He plays with heart, always wants the ball, works his ass off and has more football intelligence than the rest of our players added together.
I always admired VDV as a very good player but I never realised he was this good.
He should be made captain of our team immediately.
What a fucking player!!!!!!!!!

Am i the only one who didnt see determination but a bloke who was so hyped to prove something at the dutch that he was destined to get sent off?

Some see passion, others see a complete lack of composure and something of a liability which could have cost us the game, jus sayin'.

i suppose he's quite good at kicking the ball and that though.

He played up front, on the right, on the left, he tracked back he tackled. If one combines the skill he has with the effort that he put in I'm trying to remember a better individual performance in the last five years.
Hope he can raise the standards of all around him as he is simply a legend in the making for us.

I agree to some extent, he did start jumping into tackles too much and as soon as I saw him running towards their player (when he got his second yellow card) I knew it was a red card waiting to happen.

I do, however, think that he's a proper winner, and although he may have got carried away tonight he's got exactly the sort of mentality we need, he's a top player but he's also determined and passionate and we need some strong characters in our team.

Dimitar who?
Shaddap. That fucker is exactly what he needs in the team. Someone on his wavelength up front. Even Modders is struggling to see things at times. He's a little isolated at times. Still, only been here 5 minutes. Hopefully the understanding gets better as the games go by.

There was only one issue, and it was in the first half. He put so much in to attack, he left us a bit exposed several times. If we had a decent forward, we wouldn't be so reliant on him and Bale like we are right now, and that wouldn't matter.

He is class. I hope the geezer that went down like he was shot for the second yellow, twists his ankle getting on the coach or something.

Any player in the side has the skill VDV has. What sets VDV aside is that he doesn't give up. His sleeves are rolled up and he's imn there. He keeps going and he tries to make the best out of wvery position he is on. That is what is rare in football today and it's a damned pleasure to see,

Thats not quite true though, is it. Valid points on the rest of the stuff you said, but talent wise, he's in a select few.

His attitude very much reminds me of Davids. Despite having won everything, twice, and being the most famous midfielder in the world, he came to spurs and gave everything, in every match. He would run his socks off until the whistle went and would start again in the next game. It should also be remembered that he was playing out of position and often doing 2 men's jobs. A true winner.

In vdv we have a player with the same desire to win, but with unbelievable talent as well. Not that Davids was too shabby in terms of talent for the type of player that he was.
