Spent 25m. So far sold Dawson for around 4m. Naughton Fryers and Ekotto should raise a further 10m

Technically yes, positionally? Remains to be seen. Give him a go by all means, but that position is all about...well, positioning. And reading the game. Oh, and tackling. And maybe moving the ball quickly once you've won it back too.

You get what I mean! It's worth a try, at least.

His passing is very good mate, I remember him setting up quite a few attacks with his vision for a quick counter. But yeah, its a position he would have to develop in.

Aside from Kaboul's injury record his contract runs out at end of season (unusual for Levy to allow senior players to have less than 2 years left on a contract) so as from January he could be signing a pre-contract with another club - which could mean we let himgo at that point for a small fee.

At that point we will want another cb if Chirches leaves now - so my guess is that he'll stay.

I hop we don't sell all of Sandro, Paulinho and Holtby becouse we'll suddenly be understocked in CM. Capoue, Bentaleb and Dembele isn't enough.

Dier won't expect to be first-choice IMO so I don't think it's a problem...

I'm personally very happy with how our defense shapes up at this point. I think we have a potentially very good starting duo (Fazio/Vertonghen), good-to-very-good depth (Kaboul/Chiriches) and some nice high-upside talents (Dier, Davies). I can't really complain as it just seems like such a really well-conceived and implemented plan to right what I felt was the biggest wrong of last season. We seem to have great cover at all positions which should really help deal with the grueling EL and Cup competitions.
