From NorthStandChat
They have a poll at the top of the page and 20% voted 3-0 Spurs and 20% 3-1. The rest are all pretty evenly spread out, but a lot are predicting a battering. I go onto other teams forums to post comments here quite regularly and I've never seen a group of fans expecting to be beaten so badly. Lots of teams often predict a defeat, but this lot are expecting a proper hiding.

Kane and Son on fire atm. We're playing like headless chickens. It's not going to be pretty.

I don’t recall predicting a hiding for our boys in any game but with no Dunk, poor form, Spurs in good vain I think a 4-0 drubbing - which hopefully turns out to be a 1-0 win for us.

I may get a few cross words for this, but I've gone "other", predicting 7-1 spuds.
This will be one to forget.

4-1 Danny Welbeck consolation goal on 92minutes after the crowd has left for the train.

5-1 Spurs

Worst nightmare for us.
If we don’t pass well, they will hit us on the break, again, again and again......

An absolute hiding

4 0 sorry

They're gonna take our trousers down good and proper

Gulp!!?

Possibly a dodgy translation, probably a description of how they dealt with us, definitely my new swear phrase of choice. Either way, this is what they're saying on the Antwerp forum tonight...

That Empire of the Kop article would carry more weight if it included the supposed Kane dive that they claim is a similar incident.

Personally thought it was a foul on Salah yesterday (or at least that there was contact and it was a blooming daft challenge by the defender) so surprised anything has been made of it by MOTD.

Yeah, he did make the most of it, but it was definitely a foul.

After Merson took the opportunity to have another go at spurs . It was obvious that this bloke is reactive and not proactive after every week he changes his mind about a team if they lose then they can't possibly win the league but if they win " of course they can win the league "At certain times this season he has stated that Everton / Chelsea / Arsenal / Liverpool / City / Spurs .Only to say a week later when they lose they have no chance of winning the league .
It is so childish that I can't believe this bloke is paid to give opinions . What he does is react to results = win your great and lose = your rubbish .

They're a poetic bunch on the South Coast...

I had a feeling that 350k a week Gareth would ultimately drive a massive stake through my heart, you know, a diamond encrusted pimped up stake with quasi-futuristic lights... it was inevitable, akin to our plucky low budget freebie endeavour ending in agonising defeat.

Yet, when I eat my breakfast I can take pride that our manager works so well with what we have and that a young GK played so well against such overwhelming odds... when you consider that one player, a player who came off the bench, probably earns the sum total of our annual wage budget in a mere few months... well... it's frankly astounding that they stumbled so on their way to victory - a victory, that must surely feel hollow when you consider the universal gap (gulf) between our clubs.

And it was this last line that jolted me. Was our victory somehow the less sweet for having been achieved through the services of a multi-millionaire superstar? Did my excitement at winning decrease slightly upon reflection that they're a lower-level team than us? Did our glorious ascent to second place, won as it was, leave nothing ultimately but a mildly hollow feeling?

It's nice to see that Arsenal have their priorities set for the season - maintaining their consecutive games assist record!

I do like Brighton. It's a great town and has great people. Their top thread at the moment is this one which made me laugh as it reminds me of some posters here (but unlike over there, our posters are serious when they say it)

Some early thoughts from Thursdays opposition fans

The final outcome depends entirely on Tottenham. What line-up they will come out with and their setting for the game. In general, you can't surprise them with anything football except great self-sacrifice and struggle. in optimal composition and ready for anything to win. Hopefully you are totally underestimated. This is your chance for something positive in the match.

With this lace something like 1: 5!
: roll:

Whatever happens, there should be brandy and salad!
: lol:

As much as they want.

They only have 5 posts in the thread so far and one of them is the opener who reckons theyll win 2-1.

Will revisit again between now and KO.
