Seriously?
Yeah.
I know he's further back in his development but I do think he's got more about him for the future.
That's not to say that he's ahead of Rice at present but I do think he soon will be.

For me, he's got more dynamism about him, which is essential for the role.
As I say, I'm probably biased but I do believe that Skipp has the potential to totally dominate that midfield role.

West Ham fans that I know think he’s being stifled by Moyes, and they could well be right.

I remember on at least one occasion against us in the last few years at our place he did exactly as you said. He totally ran the midfield and we couldn’t get near him.

Could be right, maybe he's got a bit complacent and needs something to push him on. A new manager or a new club.
Rice is a good player but doesn't come across as the smartest, so maybe he needs someone to keep him focused.
I like him and it's obvious that the talent is there but I think he may lack the desire and drive that Skipp seems to have, which is why I think Skippy will overtake him.

I may be completely wrong and it sure wouldn't be the first time but I'm just voicing my thoughts out loud in the safe space that is SC. ??

Not much on there, mostly complaining about Moyes and realising they are going down. But there you go:
KUMB
  • Kane finishing like that? Guaranteed 0-0 this.
  • Tottenham carving us open on the counter attack time and time again. We're falling for it.
  • Oh dear. Let the floodgates open. I hate this mob more than any other, and they're now gonna stuff us.
  • Undone by Davies and Royal. How pathetic.
  • Spurs so there for the taking first half. Good attacking from us since though.
  • Charming chants from the home crowd.
  • I ****ing hate Harry Kane you lispy cheating rat
  • This is absolute trash, we can't get near them.
  • God I despise Son.
  • Getting torn a new one by Oliver Skipp and Ben Davis..
  • Skipp has pissed on Rice today. What’s that all about?
  • Fraser Forster next to nothing to do.
  • Now spurs sing west ham going down.. Like we don't already know
  • We're having the p!ss taken out of us by an average Spurs side and their fans. Short of bending over, we couldn't have been better guests.
  • Spurs are literally laughing at us now.
  • Skipp has had Rice in his back pocket.
  • Worst spuds side for years and still pissing all over us.
  • Considering Spurs needed the win the go fourth I assumed they'd bottle it at some point, we were that crap we didn't even give them chance to......
  • Skipp, Hojberg, Davies, Langlet, Emerson Royale…..it’s not Brazil 1970 for ****'s sake.
  • (About Rice) That was a poor showing from him Today. Hojbjerg and Skipp. I had high hopes that we'd win that midfield battle. He got bossed by Skipp and anytime Kane dropped in.
  • ****ing hell what’s that photo doing the rounds on Twitter of Mark Noble with a spurs badge on his coat. As if the day couldn’t get any worse.
  • Sitting in the Tottenham end listening to that abuse has given me PTSD.
  • Just seen all of the racist abuse directed at Son on Twitter. What a pathetic, embarrassing day for the club. as well as the jew this and Spurs that from the away support , from a few prats behind my son today , we really are a joke on and off the pitch

I was sat very close to the away fans today - we have our share of dickheads but what a vile bunch they are. I’m sure some of them barely watched the match and were just there to shout abuse and throw wanker signs around!

Hard to say what level Skipp can reach but I’d have Declan rice at spurs in a heartbeat

Nothing would delight me more than for them to go down, if only because it means we don't have to be in the same place as their fans for at least a season.

I probably wouldn't take Rice as I don't think he brings anything we don't already have. He's great at mopping up in front of a defence and driving forward with the ball, but we have players like that. He's not brilliant receiving the ball from his defenders nor passing it forward, which is something I really do like about Skipp.

Rice probably could've done with moving already, then again they'd say the same about Kane. Then again, Harry developed all facets of his game over time.

He’s not having a great season, but he’s better than all our options when he’s at his best. I rate our midfielders, but he’s a brilliant player.

Yeh, he's suffering in a crap side and is clearly going to move. He's a quality player and you know he's going to fit right in at Chelsea.

I’ve a feeling he’ll end up at City.
I have a feeling he’ll end up here alongside Jude Bellingham, Gvardiol, Raya and Bastoni.

  • Beyond the results, nothing else matters between now and May.
  • Not sure that is true, for a club with a world class team playing in a world class stadium. For the first time in my life I'll use the term 'Moyesball'. It's hardly inspiring the next generation of supporters to watch West Ham or buy into the mythical ethos of the 'West Ham Way'.
  • ****ing sack Moyes. Hire me, or literally anyone else on here or in football and we'll stay up. This team is a top 10 team on paper but relegation team under Moyes.

Arsenal Mania
  • even with the injuries finishing behind Sp**s last season was a awful bottlejob, one of our worse ever really.
Least the club put it right immediately, they are nowhere near us as a football team.
  • Wet Spam losing
  • Beautiful football
  • what a pass
  • Bit more zip in this half
  • That goal should be disallowed because Son was warming up ON the pitch, despite being a sub.
Should be a yellow for the gimp from Korea too.
  • Shame that stupid **** had to score
  • Rice getting bullied by Skipp today ffs
  • Kane is such a ****ing scumbag, hope he stays at Sp**s for forever and never wins a trophy
  • Sp**s look dead, I dont even bother with their results now.
  • Unless they somehow recapture that form that put them in contention last season (they wont), they are on course for a 7th/8th placed finish for me. Liverpool, Newcastle, Brighton, Brentford, Fulham, all look to have more momentum than they do.

  • Come on you ammers
  • West Ham are playing volleyball out there and getting away with it. Not complaining though. Need them to win today
  • us and Spurs look absolutely hopeless
  • Spurs are dull as dishwater with the players they've got
  • Hopefully a shit West Ham beat a shit Spurs in one of the worst shit-offs I've had to witness this season
  • every time Kane misses now - are the commentators always going to say something like “that’sa thing of rarity” now he’s broke the record?
    It’s already pissing me off
  • Spurs do look a lot more threatening at the start of the second half, a few good opportunities now, and wouldn't be a surprise if they took the lead soon
  • Sky will be delighted to see their beloved Spurs in the top four.
  • Fuck off Spurs.
    Fucking boring ****s
  • Kane can fuck off like
  • Kane went down because the ball touched his socks
  • do like son though, great player
  • Shame really as Top 4 was ours to lose - draws against the likes of Leeds and Bournemouth (x2) has come back to bite us. Spurs are still choke artists
  • The media love in with Spuds getting into the top 4 at the end of the game was nauseating like

  • Spurs actually finally dropped Son?
Conte must be off his head on pain pills after his operation or something. Should work, though
  • Spurs are such a boring team
  • No atmosphere either. Can hear the players on the tv
  • Night and day going from watching United to this rubbish
  • Conte’s Spurs might be the most boring team I’ve seen in a long time. Why am I even watching this
  • Watching Kane, you just know that if we got him for example in January, we would give City hard fight for the title.
  • he's scored 17 goals so far, which is amazing in that team.
  • Spurs getting chances here.
  • You won't get a more "Conte goal" than this. Wingback to wingback...
  • We've got absolutely nothing to worry about from the chasing pack. We're by far the better team and we'll easily get top 3
  • Honestly brilliantly worked if that is a pattern they practice. The forwards suck the backline into midfield and the wingbacks are free to run beyond from the outside. West Ham got shredded in one pass
  • That’s Kane to Rashford next season on route for #22
  • Almost every team in the league has been able to get at Spurs. They've conceded more than some of the relegation candidates - and all Moyes does is shut up shop and pray for a 0-0, with the only thing resembling a positive change coming in the 80th minute 2-0 down.
What a coward of a manager he is.
  • Perisic is just in thug **** mode here
