PLease don't be so arrogant to assume that other people 'don't love the club' just because they don't share your narrow vision of it.

There will be plently of Yiddo's at Stratford, about 58,000 to be precise.

What I find absolutely hilarious is people like you who continue to miss the point.

I don't care about Tottenham being a shithole for as long as WHL is there, I'd much rather a stadium in a run down high street than a soulless bowl in a retail park.

But WHL is finished, in the name of progress we need a new stadium, sure I'd like to see a big shiny new stadium on the site of the old one but I realise now we're going to get roasted for every penny we've got in the process.

Luckily for us there is a big shiny new stadium five miles down the road, an Olympic stadium no less. If we can move into that without having to make a huge outlay that will cripple the club financially while fucking over the pikeys at the same time then sign me up.

Me arrogant?

We are a Club from North London, not East London.

If you want to support a brand name, go and support Man United.

Believe it or not I do feel sympathy for people like Davo, he is a modern day luddite, threatened by changing forces that he doesn't understand which are now encroaching on his way of life.

I think in the grandscheme of things we are bigger than North South West East london concerns, we are a London club we have fans all over the world, there is not one fan who would no longer be able to watch matches as a result of such a move. (well atleast I doubt there is, possibly a poor elderly or disabled fan...I hope not)

It's not like the Brooklyn Dodgers when they moved to LA. Don't get me wrong I do understand the desire to stay where we are, the value of tradition and history is not lost on me.

I will say though if Levy wants to move he will be doing so because he thinks it is in the best interest of the club and I will trust his judgement on this matter and support him if he decides we should make the move.

I for one would not support the club any less if they moved from the Tottenham area, we would still be in London and we would still be the same club with the same history and same passion and it would shock me if a single fan quit supporting the club or handed back their season tickets.

I'd be very interested to know my Granddads opinions on this matter (if he were not dead of course)

He met his wife on the Tottenham high road in the 'Tottenham Royal' nightclub (was Temple before it got turned into flats I believe, I only went there twice)

He had been going to games since just after the second world war and used to even take his youngest daughter to reserve matches (which were played at the Lane back then)

i'd love to be able to ask him if he thought a move to a bigger better stadium would be a good thing or if he would be resistant to change and feel the values and traditions of the club would be impeeded by relocating from our home.

What I guess I am saying is..... I wonder if age makes a difference to opinion in matters like this, are elder fans more likely to be against a move at all costs? Are people like me who are supportive of a move if it is deemed better for the club over looking something and missing core club values? or are those who refute a move out of hand regardless of any variables being stuck in their way and overly senitmental?

One thing I am suprised to read is a poster writing 'I have no time for people....' how can you post on a football fan discussion forum yet have no time for people because they have a differring opinion to your own? would you rather have everyone agreeing with your opinion so that there is no cause for debate or discussion and every thread you contribute to only serves to reaffirm your own beliefs?

I think the country's changed immeasurably over the last two or three decades. Back in the day people were much more likely to stay living in the area they grew up in and the idea of moving for some was anathema. Now though most people move away from their home area and so that sense of rootedness is gone.

I wonder how many of the people arguing to stay at all costs still live in roughly the same place they grew up in? And how many of the people saying they're not that bothered at the thought, no longer live near where they grew up? Probably it's the same proportion, but it would be interesting to find out.

The history and tradition of this Club must be lost on you, all in the name of profits. I don't want to sell-out on something I hold so dear for the sake of of a few million quid.

If the fans are the Club, spend so much to support it etc. then we should have a big say in where we end up, and I'd say most would want to stay at home.

You're a c**t if you don't care about Tottenham in my eyes.

Mate, you're obviously passionate about this, but can't you see that other people love the club just as much as you do they just see things in a different way?

I don't want to see us get left behind any further by the likes of Arsenal.

You would rather stay at our current 36,000 seater than move to Stratford which will have between 60,000 and 80,000 seats. The latter option will enable to compete for years to come with Arsenal and Chelsea and the like, the former will doom us to decades of mediocrity or perhaps worse.

You tell me who doesn't really care about the club?

Meanwhile this development has not attracted a penny of public money.

This is a development with the potential to kickstart regeneration in one of the most deprived boroughs in London, where land values are poor and yet no regeneration monies are available to it. This is in contrast to the stadia developments of Arsenal and Wembley which were both awarded public sector assistance. These developments required substantial public sector intervention and assistance and would not have progressed without the injection of public sector money.

That is annoying.

Just a thought -

Say for a moment that THFC does relocate to Stratford and settles down in its new arena. Within a couple of years Spurs wins the Premiership!!

In time honoured fashion Mr Levy orders up the tour bus for a celebration procession showing off the trophy!!

What route would he take?

The Tottenham High Street, lined with jeering leering locals livid at the club exodus?

Stratford's lit streets paved with Hammers fellows intent on throwing a few eel pies towards the open top deck?

Seeing as the Olympic Park is a brand new development maybe we could do like they do in Vegas and reproduce famous land-marks from overseas, only we could do them from Tottenham...

You could rename one of the approaches White Hart Lane and have a themed Tottenham High Road, complete with Chick King, Bell and Hare, whatever and have people in costume dressed up to look like the old proprietors...

I'm joking, btw...

I could look out me ol'd cloth cap and wander around bantering the good sirs and ladies, to add authenticiy to the occasion.

Maybe we could work in another verse explaining the whole 'from' thing? Because, you know, explaining it every time we sing it would become a little tiresome.

We are Tottenham,
Super Tottenham,
We arre Tottenham,
In point of origin from the Lane no matter where we are located at this precise moment in time (and still retain an affectionate concern for Tottenham, where the club originated".
If it takes off, I want royalties:grin:

The whole bus-top thang is just soooo antiquated now, though, don't you think:shrug:
I think we should dispense with it.
Wouldn't a open helicopter parade be more modern, not to say, more convenient:wink:
