If you are an ST holder dude, send it to SC - there will be a queue of our members wanting to take your unwanted space to follow our team whatever, wherever and whoever is wearing our shirt.

I still think Charlie will start Saturday at Sunderland.

I agree with that

Some of us have always said Zokora does a very decent job either in Central defence or at full back but he is not a Premiership CM player, end of.

I thought he did well last night and I've seen him play well for us in Central Defence.

I have never seen him have a good game in CM

I'd actually start liking him as a player if he was a right back.

It probably suits him there cus he can up and down all day and never have to make a decision.

Gary Doherty has 34 caps for Republic of Ireland.
Timothée Atouba has 24 caps for Cameroon.
Mbulelo Mabizela has 44 caps for South Africa.

Want me to continue or have I destroyed that point enough already?

Zokora has improved ten fold from his first season here. He does a job in any position he's put in, and he always give his all. He's fast becoming one of our most important players. Not necessarily automatically a starting place, but he'll never be left out the squad. Ever. Minus injury, of course, which I don't ever recall happening with him. He's like a bionic man.

Kazuyuki Toda has 20 caps (and a goal) for Japan.

Corluka is a centre half for me. Zokora has really impressed me recently.

Interesting that Chimbonda didn't come in for Corluka.
I'd guess either Harry rewarded Zokora for his effort by keeping him in the team or Chimbonda's not pulling his weight in training. His attitude is well known to be questionable; maybe he's not impressed since coming back? Wouldn't surprise me if he's off again in the summer!! Pure guesswork though.

I though Zokora played well in the cup final to be honest. Covered alot of ground, and when a player gets one on one with Zoko, you know that player isn't getting past him.

I like him, brilliant squad player to have.

I think Harry regards Zokora as someone who always gives his all, and he wants to play him every week. With Palacios and Jenas now forming a useful partnership, maybe Harry has realised that the only way to do this is at RB. I think he works well there, and I can't believe those who slag him off, as he is one of the few who ALWAYS works hard for the team. That is certainly what we have needed over the past few months and on for the rest of the season.

Take note: worst international player ever to play for Spurs.

I don't mind the Zok bashing... some of it can be well argued and some of it makes sense, even to me.

But it's this sort of bile that winds me up.

He's not the worst international player to ever play for Spurs and you look like a complete nobby if you can't be big enough to take that ridiculous comment back.

Mabizela looked a decent player(stunning strike against Leicester away). I understand there was a refreshment issue with him. Atouba can play football, has a lot of skill, but lacks judgement. Doherty was pants, I'd forgotten he was an international.

Funnily enough, I generally expect players to give their all. That's the least you can give in their position. If Zokora ever becomes one of our most important players, then even darker times surely beckon. If I ever see a JJ/Zoko midfield next season, I'll be swiftly switching off or leaving the ground.

So you'd rather Mabizela? Because of a goal he scored against Leicester? Brilliant. I'm beginning to really value your opinion.

Let me guess, it's more switching off than leaving the ground, right?

that'll be the jj zoko combo that had the crowds leaving wembley in droves as they were steamrollered by some small team from Manchester

Zokora has become a very important part of this team. His ability to cover 3 positions, his attitude and phenomenal fitness more than make up for the occasional pass going astray. He is an excellent man marker and I'm beggining to think that if he isn't going to get a game in midfield because of jj and palacios he could well be the best choice for RB. Would just need to work on his crossing. Harry's decison to play him there against Downing was a very clever one and I hope he does the same against Villa. Wouldn't mind seeing him play in CM with Palacios going on recent form but that won't happen. let him play RB and see how he develops I say. I like Corluka and really rate him but think his lack of pace lets him down. He will be a CB for us next season I'm sure.
To anyone that has slated Zokora I can only assume they haven't been watching recently and if thats the case they are in no position to comment.

Zokora played well, we won 4-0, it could have been different, it wasn't. Take 3 points, move on!

Take note: worst international player ever to play for Spurs. An athlete, not a football player, except there's a lot more money in football than athletics, and it's a lot less punishing. I don't blame him, but there a lot of deluded fans supporting him because they identify with him(especially at last season's CC final, when he turned his back on the penalty).

What did Harry reckon Bill said to him? "You're a right winger who can't score goals. Are you anywhere near as good as Stanley Matthews?" What the fuck would he have said to Zokora when told about his favoured position? I think it would have been unprintable. Faced with this guy around 1970 as a "fait accompli", Bill would probably have called it a day there and then. It wouldn't have needed Feyenoord to finish him off and I guess there might have been some comfort in that.

I have read that paragraph a few times and it makes no sense. What are you talking about?

So he never played well in the last 2 cc finals then? I can't even be bothered to list the number of games he has been good in and a few when he has been immense.

I suppose you are a fan of Hudd (about 10 decent games in 100) and jj (can't string 3 decent performances together and is mostly anonymous)?

Do you watch the matches or do you just decide who has played well beforehand?

I think that Zoko has been one of our most consistent players for about 18 months now. I personally would never, ever, leave him out of the squad. He gives his all in every game and is just an unbelievable athlete. Lately his positional awarenes, skill and passing have also improved. Very good at cb and quite frankly brilliant at right back as well, how people can talk the shit they do about him but still wank every time hudd gets on the pitch is beyond me.

How many players better than zoko, in 3 positions, as committed to the cause, as hard working and as consistent do you think we could realistically attract and keep?

None is the f**king answer!

Spot on. I've said many times before, constructive criticism is absolutely fine and necessary, but spouting shit like that just to get a reaction when he blatantly doesn't believe it himself, is just pointless. Happens a lot on here and it's a pity because any decent opinion from the same poster may be ignored because of the sensationalism bullshit of previous posts.

If anyone thinks any of our current first team squad are the worst players ever to have played for us, they must've been pissed during the 90's. Or aged under 12.

i rather like zokopops - at least he has the right attitude and gives 100% (something some of our other players would do well to emulate) and has been fairly consistent this season. we all know how limited he is in ability, but his athleticism and versatility provides a good option in the squad since physically we're fairly lightweight...

at RB he's put in some good performances but given time will be found out. he's still poor positionally and his hard work may make up for it now, but teams could start preparing for him and his technical weaknesses will be exposed. against villa i would prefer his pace over Corluka (recalling how Young ripped Charlie apart last time we played them), but i think Charlie should definitely be in our first 11 somehow for most games. Zoko is great cover though and he never complains, and it's not like we'll get much money for him anyways if we tried to sell him, or a better replacement that'll be happy to sit on the bench.
