If we are playing Leeds or Barcelona, if your a goal up in injury time you put the ball in the effin corner ffs, if we had been professional enough to do that then the penalty decision wouldn't have even happened.

You're right, it was the only mistake Bale made all day.

The thing is the penalty, right or wrong, should not have decided the match. We should have been streets ahead by then. Poor selection by Harry to have no defensive midfielder. Jenas was a total liability and had Wilson played from the start we should have won comfortably. Then when it is clear to everyone that JJ is having a nightmare, even by his own abysmal standards, he leaves him on to do further damage. The one bright spot for me was Pav, who in a few moments, illustrated why he should start ahead of Crouch. The replay is going to be anything but easy and I think, with our present outlook, we go as underdogs. Very pissed off.

Well said.

Come the time of the replay, Pav and Bentley would have departed.. Is it worth us putting a quick bid in for Beckford...

really no, he has pace and he can finnish thats about it, he is not the PL level. he is a vastly overated player and has the worst first touch I have ever seen.

also I doubt we will sell pav and bentley by the end of this window!

Apparently Leeds deserved a replay? I must have been watching something else then.

yes, they played way better than Liverpool at Ainfield (and surely much better that all the sorry team of Hull, Wolves, etc), who could not put more than 5 decent passes in a row before losing the ball or taking it off the play and all they did was grind grind grind. Leeds with what they showed fully deserve to be in Premier league.

The same old story whenever we play a team that won't let us play our pretty football. The pundits, the media and, yes, us Spurs fans have been saying it for donkeys years......Spurs are soft, they have no grit, no leader, no downright determined fighting spirit and now we have a new one for the list, too many Spurs players have no brains. That said, we have also had a succession of managers who, seemingly, have not been able to identify a problem that the whole world and his dog have talking about for god knows how long. Yep, we've certainly have got our Tottenham back, though I'm not sure ourTottenham ever went away, I think the other teams just periodically forget how weak we are.

What a load of rubbish from our team - indeed. This one falls squarely on the shoulders of the players and HR. Why HR you ask? For starting Jenas who was utter crap, for taking off Rose and Krankjar when both were doing very well, and leaving on Jenas and Modric, who was not world class today. Also it's pretty clear that Defoe does not know how to take penalty kicks. Why not leave it to Kranky, who is probably our best kicker of the ball?

How about Pav today? He sure didn't look lazy or disinterested. He certainly did much better than Crouch, Defoe and Keane......who by the way did not do him any favors the 2 times he passed to him to far off to the left. Watch HR not put him on again in the league. That goal was class. And why put on Keane? Dos Santos would have added much more industry on the left, once Rose was taken off.

Bale was definitely man of the match for us again. Too bad he made the wrong call by trying to go outside again, when Pav and Keane were trailing for the back pass.

You would think after horrible games against Liverpool, and bad results against Hull and Wolves, that our team would have been motivated to go out and finish the game off early. Either HR has lost his motivational abilities, or maybe he is distracted with this tax issue. Either way, our results are certainly not good enough, and it all starts and ends with the man in charge.

Don't let the penalty confuse your perception of Dawson's performance, he was great, one silly tackle doesn't make his performance crap. Much like Bale who played well apart from the last minute.

NO, you score a third to seal the game, Bale runs all the way from one end to another, then slows down and there is not single midfielder who came in support. It was him, Defoe, Pav and a shit load of yellow shirts.

Pav looked more like scoring and actually KEEPING the ball in 20 minutes than Crouch has for about a month!

well i think the strikers for the next game should be keane and pav
defoe has been shocking since the wigan game and has gone back to his selfish old ways
as for crouch he dont have a lot to his game apart from head downs
keane & pav deserve a chance

Glad someone else has noticed

also can I say, some people are really over-hyping leeds. In the replay we will be fovourates we are a diffrent level to them, this game was almost treated as an experement by Redknapp I would not worry to deeply about it.

....maybe the reason I am chirpy is because I get to watch the game at leeds now. That and it was actually an enjoyable game, and made me fall in love with football again, when the liverpool game killed it

Thought Modric played pretty well?
Also Rose was pretty anonymous, one critisicm of Bale when he had that great run and had an easy square ball for a tap in for Pav or Keane, but looked like he wanted the glory. Hindsight is a great thing though

Oh, by the way, we have got to be the worst tackling team ever......poor challenges all game long. And for a side that prides itself on passing, it was not up to par today.....how many bad passes did we have? Abysmal.

i dont think he is crap, but he was poor today imo. terrible passing if you can call it that, hit and hope every single time without fail. he got caught out a few times positionally, being baled out by bale one of the times.

he needs to be calmer more composed. 2 bad games in a row now but the whole team seems to have gone to hell

Well we are still in the cup. I dont think it was a penalty but still! Cant be bothered to get annoyed with it! Think that maybe because you know as soon as we end up against a Chelsea or Ars*al if they win tomorrow we will bottle it. Like we have done every time we have played top 4 team this season.

My main concern is Harry! Im big fan think he is doing a great job with us. As I said the other night though im not convinced we will get top 4 under him. But ever since his court case has been announced the other week our form has taken a dive. Also he has made some strange team selections like today, our midfield was completely wrong. It was and looked great when we had the ball but as soon as we didn't we were far too open and offered no protection for the defence until Palacios came on.
He should have started with either Palacios or O Hara with Jenas in the centre of the park and rested one of Modric or Niko.

My biggest criticism of him is he needs to let Portsmouth go! He is Tottenham manager now and has been for over a year and he has to leave them to sort out the mess they are in. I will be very annoyed if buy Kaboul back for £10 million as there is no way on earth is worth that. Also im presuming thats why O hara didn't play today as he is waiting for there transfer embargo to be lifted so he can go back there. As to me it sometimes seems that he is using us to help try and sort them out from the mess they are in.

I have a horrible feeling until his court case is sorted out our form is going to continue to take a downward turn as no matter what he says of it not effecting him or us it surely must do specially if there is a chance however small that he will be sent to prison he is only human and that must effect him.

Once again Bale showed his class BUT he made a run in the 94th minute ALL he had to do was runnit in the corner and the game was won instead he comes inside. Today also summed up Dawson. An absolute rock with one or two costly lapses

Rose played pretty well - dont forget he is young and doesn't even regularly get on the pitch as a sub. I thought he did very well running up and down the left flank. He needs to work on his crossing and final ball though - much like Lennon of years past.

Modric, on the other hand was anonymous.......he desreved to come off in place of Kranky.
