also can I say, some people are really over-hyping leeds. In the replay we will be fovourates we are a diffrent level to them, this game was almost treated as an experement by Redknapp I would not worry to deeply about it.

....maybe the reason I am chirpy is because I get to watch the game at leeds now. That and it was actually an enjoyable game, and made me fall in love with football again, when the liverpool game killed it

Yeh but its another game we could do without, we should have hammered leeds, and make no mistake they will be well up for it at their spot.

As for experiment i didnt see much experimenting, once rose went off we had the same team who played utter trash at anfield on wednesday!

Bale should have kept the ball in the last few mins instead of trying to be a hero.

Thought Modric played pretty well?
Also Rose was pretty anonymous, one critisicm of Bale when he had that great run and had an easy square ball for a tap in for Pav or Keane, but looked like he wanted the glory. Hindsight is a great thing though

Mordric aside from few decent passes was our worst player. His defensive play was horendous, which is why Harry had Palasios on the fill the space Modric was leaving open. If Mordric was supposed to be our offensive midfield (Jenas the defensive one) before that change he did jack nothing. He didnt do much afterwords either. He generally slows our game - it takes him too long to pass the ball, because he has to wank with it for a little bit allowing the opposition to recover. His movement without the ball is almost nonexistent. His trick are useless and lead to nothing. He is F overrated.

NO, you score a third to seal the game, Bale runs all the way from one end to another, then slows down and there is not single midfielder who came in support. It was him, Defoe, Pav and a shit load of yellow shirts.

My mistake I forgot it was easier to score than keep the ball in the corner. You have the lead in injury time, you waste time and get the ball in the corner see the game out.

Rose needs to kick his coaches in the balls.

Why? Why did they allow him to run so much in the first 30 mins? One min he was dribbling past the whole team, then he was on his own goal line, then next he was sprinting forwards trying to support/feed strikers?

Who missed the impossible pace he set himself? Absolutely idiotic! I don't blame Rose, because he bust a gut trying to impress..

He was so good on the ball. There was no reason for him to play Mr Sweeper/Winger/DM/Striker when he was no where near the action. He was ball chasing. I hate to say schoolboy error but this was coaching error. I hope they give him a good pep talk because the Leeds fans sung him off with an ironic song and I think if he held his position/shape, he would have been carried off the hero.

I think the Modric benefit of the doubt has to stop.

no we did experiment, for starters

playing modric in the center
playing rose on the left
playing a system based on keeping the ball, and using width through the fullback
playing Jenas with modric
playing 3 up front with Pav and keane out wide
playing with a midfield trio of Palacios, Jenas and modric

just a couple of observations. Also change in line up dosen't mean their isnt a change in stratagy. Redknapp thought Leeds would try to deffend, he changed his line up into something whcih could break sides like stoke, wolves and hull. did it work, its difficult to tell and not with Jenas...but I think if we started with Pal with modric in the center it could of worked? Playing 3 up front certainly did open up play. will that work against a stronger team then leeds?

Ye thought Modders did well at CM.

Rose was quiet, but Bale was excellent going forward. I know the chance you're talking about, he got into the box and to me, it wasn't greed, he just didn't know what to do with the ball, and took too long to decide.

We played some good football tonight. Opened Leeds up a couple of times, and could have been out of sight by half time. Unfortunately, Defoe is shit at pens, and their keeper had a really good first half.

Mordric did well?

When? Oh yeah, a back heel and some good close control.

I remember Ginola did them. They didn't come off just like Modrics didn't but at least Gin would make up for it by scoring a 25 yard screamer.

Some people (not me, still confident) are really upset today and you're only winding people up with this sort of sense of humour!

Well, on the positive side, Bale had a blinder today, Pav worked really hard and went for everything and actually looked like he wanted to be there, just hope that wasn't a come and get me performance cos right now the way our strikers are playing Pav should be starting after that.

I actually think Modric played quite well today. A solid 6.5. better then Kranjcar he was alover the pitch and felt he played very well in CM. I think you may want to rewatch the game and inparticular him. He didn't have an amazing game but he had a very solid game non the less. And I say this with some degree of confidence

Modric/Jenas - lightweight again, the later had no composure in front of goal (why change the habit of a lifetime).

No way it 5 mins extra time, which would've made the penalty decision irrelevant.

Fergie was right, Wiley is unfit!

I didn't like how we played after we scored the second. And that last attack by Bale epitomized our play, if we don't want to score more goals then we surely don't deserve to win, do we?

Wo wo wo calm down people....

We don't need the extra games? i forgot we was in europe and had Carling cup games to worry about. geeze....

Also Pav? yes he played well against a League 1 side...maybe he has found his level.

We need to go to Elland Road and batter them and want it more than them right from the start.

Modric was the main reason for the way we played in the first 20 minutes, his movement is so far above everyone in the team that it's not even funny, he was finding pockets of space everywhere and creating space for others, if you cannot see that then i cannot help you. (yes it left us open in the middle, but how much off that was managerial tactics? Modric appeared to be playing well advanced of Jenas)

Rose may have been decent running with the ball but his use of the ball was poor at best., i don't wish to slate him, as he will (hopefully) improve.
