Wo wo wo calm down people....

We don't need the extra games? i forgot we was in europe and had Carling cup games to worry about. geeze....

Also Pav? yes he played well against a League 1 side...maybe he has found his level.

We need to go to Elland Road and batter them and want it more than them right from the start.

so Crouch's level is obviously league 2...

Mordric did well?

When? Oh yeah, a back heel and some good close control.

I remember Ginola did them. They didn't come off just like Modrics didn't but at least Gin would make up for it by scoring a 25 yard screamer.

He actually broke up some of Leeds play pretty well in the first half, and put himself about, unlike Jenas who was pure and utter cack. That's not what Modric is about, but he had to do it to make up for Jenas' lack of anything really. He did much better when Palacios came on too.

I actually think Modric played quite well today. A solid 6.5. better then Kranjcar he was alover the pitch and felt he played very well in CM. I think you may want to rewatch the game and inparticular him. He didn't have an amazing game but he had a very solid game non the less. And I say this with some degree of confidence

Yeah its great talking, I took your advice and watched it all over again

That is a lie, I didn't but remember Kranj had an assist in todays game so get of Modrics balls please.

Modric/Jenas - lightweight again, the later had no composure in front of goal (why change the habit of a lifetime).

No way it 5 mins extra time, which would've made the penalty decision irrelevant.

Fergie was right, Wiley is unfit!

Yep. Agree

You've come crawling out of the woodwork now that Mods has had a few poor games!

You are very boring and predictable!

A poor game? Acording to people on here he was good.

I think Modders is a great player. I just don't think praise should be showered on him when he hid for large periods of the game at home against lower league comp.

Just got back from the game, haven't read through the whole thread so forgive me if this has already been mentioned - anyone know if anyone was injured in the north lower stand during the first half by half a seat flying down from the north upper? It came from row 2 of block 53 just after Defoe's pen was saved - some total fuckwit booted the back of the empty seat in front of him and sent the whole back flying over the front of the stand. I'm guessing that someone was probably badly hurt by it. Then he just sat down and carried on watching the game like nothing had happened. He was hauled out by stewards and presumably (hopefully) will be banned for life and prosecuted. Some other tit kicked the back off another seat after they scored their pen too. Nobody got hurt by that one.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the match today. Good cup tie. We were rubbish, Leeds played really well, their fans helped create a terrific atmosphere, and the result was about fair IMO. No idea if theirs was a pen, but we should have been out if sight by then anyway.

No you don't! Show me some of your posts where you have praised him?

You have had this bee under your bonnet for a season and a half and won't let it go.

I don't think he was poor today, but in general since he's come back he hasn't been at his best.

I would respect you more if you at least stuck to your guns mate!

I didn't like how we played after we scored the second. And that last attack by Bale epitomized our play, if we don't want to score more goals then we surely don't deserve to win, do we?

When you're winning 2-1 in the 95th minute you don't need to score again, you just need to see it and be professional. I thought Bale was fantastic today and that mistake was just unfortunate.

Modric was the main reason for the way we played in the first 20 minutes, his movement is so far above everyone in the team that it's not even funny, he was finding pockets of space everywhere and creating space for others, if you cannot see that then i cannot help you. (yes it left us open in the middle, but how much off that was managerial tactics? Modric appeared to be playing well advanced of Jenas)

Rose may have been decent running with the ball but his use of the ball was poor at best., i don't wish to slate him, as he will (hopefully) improve.

We played well in the first 20 mins as we had the fresh legs to cope with being a man down from the start.

What did Crouch do wrong today? he won everything in the air and got fouled all the time.

Not his fault JD & Jenas couldn't finish or Bale & Hutton couldn't cross onto his head.

I must have watched a different game. Crouch got his head to a few balls but did absolutely bugger all with any of them. He is one of the worst headers of a ball unless he has a clear run. he gets beaten to the ball by players a foot shorter when jumping with a defender from a standing start.

Great performance today. Didn't deserve to lose. Bale was like Dani Alves today, full of energy and easily MOTM. We should have finished them off, but a poor decision cost us. How the same ref in the same match can give that penalty but not the one on Defoe in the 1st half was a complete joke. Defoe should've scored his penalty though. But overall, we were far the better team. Started at a great tempo, dominated the first half, started the 2nd half slow and conceded a soft goal, but got back on top and should have won. Pav was great when he came on, he links up well with Defoe. And Palacios made a world of difference when he came on. Even when he doesn't win the ball, he puts enough pressure on players to force a mistake.

I guess we'll just have to do it the hard way. But hey, thats Spurs for ya. We've had a bad week, lets get behind the lads for a new week and Fulham at home. Every team has bad patches, but we dominated 2 of the 3 games so its not all bad. We just need the rub of the green atm. COYS!

mil1lion I wouldn't say great performance, we didn't play with much/any determination and loads of players (Kranjcar for example) didnt make an forward runs, so when we had the ball we did fuck all.

He didn't seem to have a right midfielder, Jenas, Luka and Niko all cut inside when they had the ball, so we only had Hutton on the right hand side. When he did go forward we were left exposed and thats when Leeds sliced through our defence.

Pav looked more like scoring and actually KEEPING the ball in 20 minutes than Crouch has for about a month!

I agree -- that is the way it looked today. If there's a deal in place, then sell him. If not, then play him!!!!!! Just pick one, and soon PLEASE!!

 I'd rep you, but need to spread it about apparently. Not saying I thought we played all that well, but certainly wasn't as bad as some are making it out to be, and as you said, we're just not getting the rub of the green at the mo.

At the beginning of the season we rode our luck, now we need to ride out our lack of luck. If our bad patch means a draw with Hull, losing at Anfield, and having to go to a replay in the FA cup, I expect I'll be pretty happy by the end of the season.

Jenas is a joke fullstop

Now, now. He's a good squad player, ready to come in for injured starters and get on the front foot against weaker competition. You never had a bad day at the office? You don't want to hurt anyone's feelings now. We're all Tottenham through and through -- COYS!!

We played the game exactly how an FA Cup game should be played. It was a great game. We had what, 19 shots (17 on goal) to their 7 (5 on goal). We conceded 2 soft goals, but i didn't agree with the pen (it certainly wasn't as bad as the foul on Defoe). He tackled from the side and got the player and ball, it was a proper tackle and he was punished for it. Leeds did a good job of playing their typical dirty stuff to stop the momentum, but we outplayed them for three quarters of the game. We worked extremely hard, coming off a tough trip to Anfield. Overall we deserved the win, no question about it.

The thing is the penalty, right or wrong, should not have decided the match. We should have been streets ahead by then. Poor selection by Harry to have no defensive midfielder. Jenas was a total liability and had Wilson played from the start we should have won comfortably. Then when it is clear to everyone that JJ is having a nightmare, even by his own abysmal standards, he leaves him on to do further damage. The one bright spot for me was Pav, who in a few moments, illustrated why he should start ahead of Crouch. The replay is going to be anything but easy and I think, with our present outlook, we go as underdogs. Very pissed off.

Yep, that sounds like the game I watched today. Although I must admit, the players did not get the result today. I really wouldn't lay this one at Harry's feet. Until Palacios came on I don't know that Spurs had a CM... no excuse though, the players on the pitch SHOULD'VE been able to handle lower competition today -- clearly they couldn't cope without Wilson...

Apart from the dirty Leeds bit I agree with this post. I thought it was a cracking game, we should have and deserved to have won it, but hey-ho you don't always get what you deserve.

Credit to Leeds as well alot of teams would have buckled under that early pressure and on the 2 occasions that they went behind, but Leeds kept going and the ref done them a favour.
