The more I think about it the more I'd be very surprised if BAE started.
Bale at left back, Modric Left mid, Jenas and Hudd CM, VDV behind Crouch.
DONE!
Can't see it, it would mean persisting with the very out of form Lennon when all of Ekotto, Bale, Jenas, Huddlestone, Modric and VDV are on far better form and contributing far more to the team. The fact that there is a balanced and fair way to include all these players without damaging the shape of the side, combined with the fact that we'll almost certainly have the very attacking Hutton at RB, means that Lennons presence in the side would only be to the detriment of the team right now I'm afraid, and it pains me to say this because I love the kid.
Unless you think that one of Bentley, Gio or Kranjcar should play on the right? But that's unlikely.
sorry for being picky..
But didn't you go on the other day that harry should have played a stronger side on tuesday?
:bang:
and wasn't you crying out to play are only FIT and ESTABLISHED RB..hutton!!..and risk not having one for tomorrow and weds...(don't say naughton pleasemg
But you now say we should have rested benny, even though harry has bale and luka ready to play the left side on sat...
sorry mate, it doesn't add up what your saying.
This is a case of 'Harry is damned if he does or damned if he doesn't'
please lets think about what we are saying , consistancy would be nice:shrug:
Harry just can't please some of you!

I'm totally with BBLG on this, not in a gay way...
BAE has to be left back, Bale left mid when we are away from home. Gladly have Bale at left back for the home games when he wont be marked out the game. But West Ham will not set up to contain us.
Modric next to Hudd, Jenas in front of Hutton so to speak, Lenny on the bench.

You can't see why we would play Lennon on the right this weekend, who usually plays well against West Ham, but you can see why we will play BAE who has already clocked up 210mins of competitive football this week alone?
Providing that Gomes, Hutton, Gallas, King, Bale, Huddlestone, Jenas, Lennon, Van Der Varrt, Modric and Crouch are all fit I can't see how Redknapp will pick anything other than that side (in a 4-2-3-1) considering the amount of time BAE has played and that Corluka, Dawson, Defoe are all injured.
Mate, that's an argument for the other thread. One which even I'm getting slightly bored of now Eek
Suffice to say if you could be arsed to read what i wrote over there then you'll realise that what I've said is consistent, unfortunately just not with the argument you thought I was making.
Onwards and upwards!
Gomes
Hutton----Gallas----King----Ekotto
JJ----Modric----Huddlestone----Bale
VDV
Crouch
JJ deserves his place
Agree. I don't see the point in playing Jenas on the right when he's played well in CM. It's just finding a way of accomodating the dropping of Lenny.
Bale isn't really 'cover' as he starts every game anyway.
This is a big reason as to why I think we need another left back if Harry is going to continue playing them both regularly.
