STATS THE WAY I LIKE IT (UH-HA, UH-HA)....

Tottenham Hotspur

* Tottenham have scored with less than 10% of their shots this season. By way of contrast, Chelsea's success rate is 27%.
* Roman Pavlyuchenko scored for the first time in 13 Premier League appearances against Wolves on Saturday.
* Gareth Bale has created 13 chances for his teammates in five Premier League games.

West Ham United

* West Ham have scored with just three of their 56 shots, giving them a success rate of 5%.
* Scott Parker has won 18 of the 22 tackles he has attempted this season.
* Carlton Cole completed a poor 46% of his passes at Stoke on Saturday.

Maybe I muddles my words a bit, but I didn't say (or at least I think I didn't) Hutton in midfield, I said Hutton is purportedly at his best with a hard working right midfielder in front of him (Jenas), instead of an attacking, line hugging winger (Lennon, Bentley). I'd never for a moment put Hutton anywhere but right back, I just think that JJ in front of him might be the trick to get the best out of his attacking qualities while making up for his defensive inconsistencies, and we have an opportunity to try it because Jenas is on good form, Lennon isn't (at all).

Don't worry, I haven't taken crazy pills.

I'm so relieved, as you usually make sense.

Lennon has been poor, i admit, but i think we should stick with him a little longer.
I think his pace is essential, especially as it looks like luka will play on the left side.
I know no-one is above being dropped, but i think azza will come good very soon....
the team adiepf says will play would be the one i would be well happy with.
COYS!

Agreed. I think we should give him a couple more games to rediscover his form. The reason being that if he does get back to his best then our side will be truly frightening.

Though I think Bale's only an average defender but a great winger, I'm not unhappy with the team our ITK suggests will be the starting line-up for Saturday (mildly surprised the decision for that has already been taken). I'm always slightly concerned about getting hit on the break when Bale plays at LB, but with Thudd and JJ sweeping behind Mod, Len and VdV I think we might have enough cover. And BAE needs a rest. Just wish he'd got it against Arse on Tuesday!

The more I think about it the more I'd be very surprised if BAE started.

Bale at left back, Modric Left mid, Jenas and Hudd CM, VDV behind Crouch.

DONE!

I really can't see any other team than the one I picked for this game providing Gomes is fit. I think tuesday was a big indicator of who will play

The very fact that 'arry kept him on for 120 mins , was a clue that he wasn't starting at west ham, luka must be fit.

He could have taken him off when we went 3-1 down , the game was gone.

Team v West ham picks itself really

Gomes
Hutton Gallas King Bale
Huddlestone Jenas
Lennon VanDerVaart Modric
Crouch

I'm liking this one.

Long term I think this team has huge potential as well with a couple of alterations.

I think Sandro in place of JJ long term would be good to provide cover for two very attacking full backs.

That with an upgrade on crouch and hopefully the emergence of Walker at RB gives, for me, a very good team indeed.

sorry for being picky..

But didn't you go on the other day that harry should have played a stronger side on tuesday?

:bang:

and wasn't you crying out to play are only FIT and ESTABLISHED RB..hutton!!..and risk not having one for tomorrow and weds...(don't say naughton please:eek:mg:)

But you now say we should have rested benny, even though harry has bale and luka ready to play the left side on sat...

sorry mate, it doesn't add up what your saying.

This is a case of 'Harry is damned if he does or damned if he doesn't'

please lets think about what we are saying , consistancy would be nice:shrug:

Harry just can't please some of you!

Whats the ITK saying for team selection this saturday?...Bale at LB with Modric ahead of him, with Jenas in alongside Hudd? Is King starting?...What about Gomes and Kaboul? Where is this ITK...

If we are playing bale and Hutton as fullbacks what about a narrower midfield to give them space to run into down the flanks ...brazil style!

Gomes

Hutton king gallas bale

Hudd
Jenas. Modric
Vdv

Crouch. Keane

I also think a diamond would suit our most in form midfielders and given our strikers recent scoring records the more of them on the pitch the better!

Surely can't play Sandro over Jenas

Nah, no way for this game, he was cramping a little at the end of the Arsenal game. Long term I can see it happening though.

Jenas definitely deserves his place in the side based on recent performances. Sandro on the bench.

Hopefuly Pav won't start, he has been given countless opportunities starting, and has massively failed to impress. Ok in front of goal when a chance happens to fall to him (as in the Wolves match), but offers absolutely nothing in terms of holding up the ball, and terrorising defenders.
