Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is reportedly considering making a move for Arsenal’s disaffected striker Nicklas Bendtner this summer as the White Hart Lane manager looks to strengthen his attacking options. The 23 year old Danish international has found his chances of breaking into the starting eleven limited by the arrival of Moroccan international Marouane Chamakh and has reportedly already clashed with Arsene Wenger over his lack of first team opportunities.
Redknapp had reportedly approached many striker targets in January without success with his interest in the likes of Andy Carroll, Luis Suarez, Fernando Llorente, Giuseppe Rossi and Diego Forlan failing to result in a signing. Tottenham’s current quartet of front-men have struggled to find form, especially in Premier League action.
Jermain Defoe has failed to score in 13 Premier League appearances, Peter Crouch has managed just two goals in 26 games, Robbie Keane failed to score before he was sent out on loan to West Ham and Roman Pavlyuchenko has managed six goals in 20 appearances.
Arsenal may well allow Bendtner to leave in the summer and the likes of Juventus and Newastle United are also apparently interested but perhaps the chance to move to another Champions League contender, even if they are the Gunners’ arch rivals, would be to tempting to turn down.
This even though from a crap source has just made my day shit :bang:
