Why is the talk of whether he is better or worse than Pavlyuchenko? He's out top scorer!!:)

I agree with both statements. If we can sign a better "uber" striker, IE the Torres/Drogba we need then great, but failing that this kid - and let's not forget he's got just about as much top drawer experience as any 23yo - has great technique, a good brain, holds the ball up better than anyone we have and uses it with more intelligence. He's not going to score 25 goals a season, but he will score more than Crouch, create at least as much, works fucking hard for the team and be more conducive to possession retention than just about all of our strikers out together.

And why does attitude bother people ? We don't have enough of it in our team, too many fucking nice guy dormice. He reminds me of Sheringham a bit.

We could do a fuck of a lot worse as a back up option.

BC ,

How about Bendtner plus another striker ?

Crouch and Pav are both good enough for our squad but Crouch will cope better with rotation . If the Russian is not going to get regular starts then it's best for all concerned to let him go .

Assuming Keane won't be coming back , I think we need replacements for both him and Defoe .

An advantage is that Man Utd , Chelsea , Liverpool , Man City are fairly well sorted for strikers so we wouldn't have to try to compete with them for Bendtner .
We are just about the only side in the PL capable of challenging for anything that could afford his wages .

I can't think of anyone better in the up to £25m £80-90k/wk bracket .

Kishman said that his contract is up in the summer ? Can anybody confirm that ? He'd be worth a look on free and it would definitely rub the scum's noses in it :)

Will always remember the infamous Bendtner vs Adebayor clash at the Lane - two of footballs most likeable fellows *cough* perfectly encapsulated within the boundaries of the glorious club *cough cough* Arsenal - oh how we laughed!

Ahem...Bendtner for Spurs, I don't think so.

Think you are being a bit harsh on Bendtner and Adebayor .

Van Persie is right in that Berbatov , Drogba class and I dearly wish Spurs could find such a striker but wouldn't take RVP on a free .

Bendtner isn't a proper cheat either so really doesn't fit in at the Emirates .

No grumbles from me. Personally I'd shift Keane & Defoe first as well, but I think we missed a huge opportunity to replace those two with one player when we passed up on Suarez. That was a major blunder IMO.

I think Bendtner would be an upgrade on Crouch, and at 23 has improvement in him, especially with more regular football.

I would still be tempted to keep Crouch though, and just replace Keane and Defoe with one player. Not hard.

RVP is world class, if we had him in our current side we could seriously challenge for the league.

I'd happily see us pay £30m for him let alone a free.

The only one draw back is his injury problems, he spends far too much time in the physio room. I don't like him, but he is class and would be great for spurs.

No doubt that he is World Class .

I'm a massive admirer of his awesome skill on the pitch .

Would not want him sullying our lily white shirt though and that has nothing to do with him having played for that lot .

yea, I hate him too, his very face annoys me.

That being said, if he played for Spurs I would welcome him and as long as he did the business on the pitch it would be great.

After all many said they wouldn't accept Gallas but he has turned pretty much everyone around since pulling on the spurs shirt.

The bottom line is, unless you actually know the guy on a personal level all judgments about them are based on only snipits of what you see and read about them on the pitch and the image can be false (plus it is influenced by who they play for deep down)

He hasn't down anything too badly wrong, you can call him a diver perhaps and he was accused of Rape but never charged to my knowledge and most likely he was falsely accused.

The Tampon, one week in, three weeks out. No chance of keeping him fit.

Would we be a big enough club for Bendtner? I'm not sure he'd see us as career progression, which is what he keeps talking about.

He'd be playing a lot more with us though. I'd definitely think about it if it was less than 12M or so, he's a cock but he would improve our frontline.

Bendtner's off-the-scale reading in the psychometric tests is an amusing tale that bears retelling. The French psychologist Jacques Crevoisier, a long-time friend of Arsène Wenger, has worked regularly with Arsenal's young players, assessing their belief, concentration levels and determination through a series of questions, but Bendtner astonished even him.

"One of the categories is called 'self-perceived competence', ie how good the player himself thinks he is," Crevoisier said. "On a scale of up to nine, Bendtner got 10. We have never seen that before. Pat Rice [the assistant manager] was sitting next to me and he couldn't stop laughing.

"When Bendtner misses a chance, he is always genuinely convinced that it wasn't his fault. You might say that's a problem and, to a certain degree, it can be. But you can also view it as this guy has a remarkable ability to come back after setbacks."

Certainly seems a confident young man on the pitch.

If I have to have an opinion here I would say that he is more feisty than both Pav and CrouchI think he would b while also being more mobile than both. He seems to get his share of goals but is not prolific. I like the fact that he has an edge and it would be interesting to see how he gets on with VDV. He is involved with a classy side that plays attractive football but has not as yet cemented a first team starters spot. I think he would be an improvement on Pav and Crouch and forwards is an area we do need to step up. The Arsenal connection is hard but not insurmountable as proven by Gallas. It is all therefore in the price.
