Can't see why people see the fact that this guy may or may not be a prick as a reason to sign or not sign somebody.

As far as I can see, Defoe is a prick, Bentley is a prick, as I'm sure are many others.

Do you think that there is Chelsea fan in the world that wants rid of Cashley?

He's a cock and no mistake - but, he does have the attributes some people above have laid out - and we also had many similar comments regarding Gallas before he came and gave us exactly what we needed in a season of injuries. Could Bendtner's technical ability and hold up play be the equivalent of Gallas' experience... i.e. a cod liver oil signing... old Arry saying it tastes nasty but its good for you...

I have a lot of arsenal scum friends and watch a lot of le arsenal play, he WAS a bit of a donkey, needing about 6/7/8 chances to put one into the back of the net.

This season however whenever I have seen him come on or play he looks much sharper, much improved player, still pretty young I believe. Would want to see him another season in the prem before taking a gamble though on him as he may go back down the donkey route.

I've been waiting for this link to crop up for a while. Despite his obvious mental and gooner deficiencies I think he'd actually be a good signing at the right price. He has all the qualities you need in a modern day No.9 but has never seemed to have gotten his head staight at Arsenal. If he can do that at Spurs I think he could become a very good striker.

I slag Gooners about how shit he is but I would take him anyday.
He isn't a fantastic striker yet but the guy is still pretty young and works a lot harder than Pav.

I know i might get slated for this, but bendtner actually has a lot of potential. granted he can really screw things up sometimes, but he's gonna get there i reckon.

whether we can find better or not who we could feasibly get to join us is another question.

I think he's miles better than anyone we have. Good in the air, good feet, not prolific, but IMO would be much better suited to a 4-4-1-1 than any of our crop.

Will never happen though.

He scored 4 goals tonight (one a penalty), I look forward to watching the highlights tonight.

Admittedly, it was vs Leyton Orient!

FFS, Defoe scored one less goal in open play against Charlton.

Meaningless.

Bendtner > Pav in my opinion.

Would be more suited to our system, would work harder and be consistently better than Pav over the course of a season I believe.

As said before though, this one is highly unlikely to happen anyway.

It would be highly unlikely that he would be our 'marquee' striking signing. So, he would in-all-likelihood, be swapping a spot on the Goons bench for one on ours. Doubt he'd be happy with that.

HE would never be our marquee signing, but as the last two windows past we failed to sign a marquee striker.

If the next window had a similar outcome i.e. we were unable to attract or pay wages for the player we wanted, Bendtner would still be an upgrade over all on pav and probably all of our current strikers in our current formation.

I'd imagine he would be a better foil for VDV than anyone we have on our books as of now.

Obviously though I would like to think we will step up our search and bring in a superstar striker to fill the role this summer.

Better than Pav or better suited to the English game than Pav:shrug:

In any case, I believe Levy will succeed next time around in his hunt for a headline striker :)pray::pray::pray:). In which case, as I said, I doubt Bendtner would be first choice in a 4-5-1 with VDV, and he wouldn't be happy with that.

What I meant was, better for us than Pav (over the course of a season)

I think if, say we had bought Bendtner in last window and he was in the mix with our current strikers he probably would have played his way into the starting line up (let's face it the others aren't scoring so its likely)

I too believe we will bring someone in this next window, although obviously being in the CL once more will have an impact on who we can attract.

But...but...but...JD is gonna find his form, HE WILL...and, it is time to UNLEASH THE PAV :)pray::pray::pray:).
