Do ourselves proud against Madrid tomorrow night and I think thats the turning point to kick on and get fourth.

We will do it, I'm telling you right now.

It's the perfect game. Nothing to lose and at worst we can aim for another glorious defeat. If we were to score a couple of goals early on we could really do it. Its obviously very unlikely but certainly not beyond us by any means.

2-0 at half time and its game on.

I think there's some serious optimism going on here. Our run in is horrendous compared to City's.

I think there is some serious underestimating of the difficulty of Citeh's remaining games and some serious underestimating of our chances in the games against Citeh, Liverpool, Chelsea and the ArseScum.

No, what does not compute is you getting agitated by the other members believing we won't win those games, and then predicted 4 points from the three games, which equates to only one win. So you're basically agreeing that we shouldn't be winning those games and one win in three will be good enough.

Glad I could clear that up for you.

I'm commenting (not getting agitated) on the fact that other members believe we won't get one single win from those FOUR games (not THREE). I therefore never in any way stated or predicted that we WOULD win all FOUR of those games, just that we are more than capable of winning at least one of them - therefore no incongruity, there.
I didn't PREDICT we would get FOUR points, I said I think we are more than capable of taking at least (AT LEAST) FOUR points from these FOUR games, possibly SEVEN, or maybe even TEN.

Please try to keep up.

Glad to be able to clear that up for you:razz:

the way this seasons gone anything can happen, this is all pure speculation, but also a good read, i think its sad we are in this position of wishing city to fail when the team couldve taken care of business already.

Without wanting to be a cock (and I would like to ask everyone else to refrain from being a cock too as firstly arrogance is very un-becoming and secondly pride always comes before a fall) I think this is a very interesting thread over on bluemoon:

I have said from day one that City are attracting too many mercenaries and not buying the players which make you into a "team", which is almost certainly the bedrock of success. Just look at Utd this season, this is their weakest squad for God know how long yet they are still on course for a treble as they play for each other and due to that very reason they are able to win many tight games.

I only counted points because people continue to overestimate City. Was merely trying to post a bit of perspective.

I really wish people wouldn't count points.

I agree.

This season more than any no team is able to count on any easy three points. Before the Wolves and Blackpool games most people were counting on those points and look at what happened there.

Why can't we just all enjoy the end of the season run in?

Since when has enjoyment played any part in being a Spurs fan?

Enjoy? That's what football's about? I thought it was abuse, anger and sodomy. Lot's and lot's of sodomy.

Anybody else hoping for a Chelsea win tonight? I am.

I know it could galvanise them, but I'm thinking about when we play them...and it would be sandwiched right in between their semi final two legs...

Hadn't thought of that Mr Pink, great shout!

Any chance of Torres actually sticking the ball in the net! Interesting to see if CA starts him tonight.

Its a tall order for them but if they were to score first United would be nevous as a second away goal would probably prove decisive.

It's a tricky one isn't it. I'd love to see their season become redundant, but it could benefit us to have them focus purely on the Champions League.

I think Torres will get a hattrick tonight. I'm not sure why but I just do

I still think they'll be top 4 whatever happens, but I'm coming from the angle of increasing our own chances of picking up a positive result against them.

But yeah its a tricky one alright.

It is, just think how nice it would have been sitting pretty in 4th or even 3rd now instead of all this wondering, thinking and speculating.

Torres will definitely start, I can only assume he was rested on Saturday in order to be fresh for tonight. I can see him scoring tonight as well.

We haven't taken care of business, but City fans will be saying the same thing about some of the silly points they've dropped. The league has been stronger in the middle and at the bottom this year, and not so strong at the top as compared to recent years, and it shows.
