68 points would have been enough for 4th place last season and I think it'll be enough for this season too.

i bet you are a 'your ticket is ripped in half and therefore invalid' kinda bus-conductor rather than 'your ticket is ripped in half but don't worry i can see the date and it's still valid' kinda conductor.

Your not computing does not compute.
For 1st part, see above answer to JaiSpurs.
For second part, well a win and a draw from these games = 4 points, two wins and a draw = 7. Glad I could clear that up for you:whistle:
No, what does not compute is you getting agitated by the other members believing we won't win those games, and then predicted 4 points from the three games, which equates to only one win. So you're basically agreeing that we shouldn't be winning those games and one win in three will be good enough.

Glad I could clear that up for you.

We're in for another nail-biting, rollercoaster, headfuck of a ride between now and the end of the season, aren't we? Pretty exciting, at least!

I think 68 points will be enough, but only if we take three points from City. Otherwise, I think we could fall short by a point or two.

Although, after the win at Stoke, City's heavy loss against Liverpool and Tevez potentially out for a few weeks, the tides for both teams could be about to turn. If Tevez is out for a couple of weeks, I can see City not winning their next two games, providing West Ham don't bend over for them.

It's up to Spurs to make sure they're ready to take advantage though. 4 points from Arsenal and West Brom would be a great start. 6 would be unbelievable, and certainly not completely unrealistic.

 couldn't agree more... who wants midweek games at exotic the European football giants' stadiums anyway? It's pish poor, really. And, as you say, boring.
Its looking like it...my poor bp

I think my heart may give in if it goes to the wire. Couldn't write the script again though, with another late in the season trip to the Eastlands again! which will be key to where we finish... again!

Definitely can't take it! Cue: Kaboul marauding down the right wing... a cross.... Crouch.... HE HEADS HOME!!!!! GET THE FUCK IN!!! etc etc.

Boring, really.

The way I see it, we need to get 5 points against Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. And win the rest of our games including the Man City game. Show them who the top dogs are.

It's going to take 65 points min to nab 4th

I agree.

I reckon city will get 8 or 9 points from their remaining games, perhaps less if Tevez is out for any length of time. When he came off yesterday he indicated that the hamstring had snapped so he may well be out for a few weeks at least.

Blackburn away = 1pt
West Ham home = 3pts
Everton away = 0pts
Spurs home = 1pt
Stoke home = 3pts
Bolton away = 0pts

We will get 11-13 pts

West Brom home = 3pts
Scum home = 1pt
City away = 1pt
Pool away = 0pts
Chelsea away = 1pt
Birmingham home = 3 pts
Blackpool home = 3pts

That would put us above them by 1 pt come the end of the season. Basically, if we can win our 3 home games and draw with the scum and get 2 draws from Pool, City and Chelski away, and not not lose to city, we should do it with 65 pts.

I actually think that when City get beat by Utd on saturday their season could simply implode. We always suspected that an injury to Tevez and their lack of team spirit could screw them at the business end of the season. We just need to keep it together and get some form and there is no better game to do this than Madrid at home. There will be no pressure and we can play with nothing to lose.

I'm starting to believe again!

I'm getting hopeful too. Went straight onto the physioroom website when I saw he'd done his hamstring in, depending on how severe it is (sounds pretty bad) it could be a month or so. It's going to be so sweet watching them fluff it up, again. :hump:

The way I see it, we need to get 5 points against Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. And win the rest of our games including the Man City game. Show them who the top dogs are.

You must be massively overestimating City.

Manchester City haven't won away in any competition since Boxing Day. That includes draws with Arsenal, Leicester City, Notts County, Birmingham City and Aris Salonika. And losses at Aston Villa, Manchester United, Dynamo Kiev, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Whilst Blackburn, Everton and Bolton aren't as tough as Chelsea away and Liverpool away, Everton and Bolton are both better than Villa, who beat them, and more than capable of winning those games. I wouldn't write Blackburn off either, they will be scrapping for any points they can.

That said they could turn it around and win those three games as well. Personally I see them getting three or four points from their three remaining away games. I don't think they'll win more than one of them, and I think they'll lose at least one.

As for the games that's a bit different. They've won 10 of 16 games at home this season in the league, drawing four times and losing only twice to Everton and Arsenal.

First up they have West Ham, who as we can testify are really fighting for points. Yes they have more reason to get up for games against us, but as the games run out and the points become more and more important at the bottom of the table they will go there trying to win. I still think West Ham will lose, but they are capable of picking something up from City.

Then they play us. All season when City have played the top teams they've tried to close the game out. They've hardly attacked, they've played to not concede. I think we have to expect that again this season. I believe that unlike City we can get up for these big games, and rather than being scared of losing, we go in determined to win. I really see us winning this game unless Mancini attacks the game in a completely different way.

Their final home game is against Stoke. Currently, this game is scheduled for the same day as the FA Cup final, which could be between these same two teams. Whilst I don't really want either of Stoke or City in the final, either of them winning their semi final would mean that their league game would have to be rearranged either some time in the first week of May, or in the final week of the season. My real hope is for City to beat United in the semi (though there could be a risk there in that it might galvanise the team) sothat they have the FA Cup final in their minds when they play as it would be the following Saturday, lose to Bolton, then have to play their rearranged league game with Stoke followed by the game away at Bolton. If that happened they'd have to play four games in the last 13 days of the season, and that could help us massively.

That said Stoke will be a tough game regardless. They don't travel well and I expect City to win, but it will be a battle.

I see City getting between four and six points at home.

That would see City pick up 7-10 points from their remaining games, seeing them finish with a total of 63-66 points.

That means that from our remaining fixtures; Arsenal (H), West Brom (H), Chelsea (A), Blackpool (H), Manchester City (A), Liverpool (A) and Birmingham (H), we need to pick up 11-14 points to secure fourth position.

Three wins at home and beating City could be enough.

That's all been worked out on the basis of us beating them at Eastlands. If we draw or lose to them then we'll need to make up the points in the other games.

Winning the next two league games would be a great start for us, it would see us sitting in fourth, three points above them when they travel to Blackburn.

Believe! COYS!

Some great points there. We have a big game team with a big game mentality. If we can beat the scum and west brom I reckon it would devastate city to such an extent that they would all but give up.

We have won the last 2 league NLDs and are more than capable of winning this one.

City are simply not daring enough and just hope to keep it tight and nick a goal. It seems almost certain that Tevez will be out for at least a few weeks and he may well miss the game at eastlands in which case they will be even more cautious.

It is ours to go and win.

Regardless of tomorrow's result, I'm feeling very optimistic after the performance against Stoke and Man City's result against the bindippers. What a rollercoaster the last couple of weeks have been!
