Strangely it is now in both us and Man City's hands. We will all our remaining games, we get CL. They win all theirs, they get CL. I really hoped it wouldn't go down to a CL playoff at Eastlands again, but it looks like that is what is going to happen.

Still with the obsession that we can't win these games. Our form against these three teams in recent years is actually pretty good, and even though Liverpool game is at Anfield we are better and they are worse than in recent years, and last year they got a massive hand from the ref.
I think we are well capable of 4 points from these three games...it wouldn't surprise me if we took 7.

Its not that I don't think we can take points I am a realist. Over the years we have got 0 pts at both Pool and Chavs away. We normally score 0 too. L'arse at home will be an amazing match but its derby and anything can happen. We have won the last 3 games against them which is a great run for us.
Lets just be a bit realistic otherwise you will have us getting 21 points from our last 7 games and that just isn't going to happen.

Think they will get 12 points and we will get 15 points and miss out on GD :-( We will get beat by Liverpool and Chelsea, win our 4 home games and beat City away again. City will only get beat by us and Everton. We cannot expect West ham or stoke to do anything at their place. Bolton will have nothing to play for any may even have the FA cup final to think about. That only leaves their next game against Blackburn to draw. If we are to get 4th it will definity go to the last game

The FA Cup final is before the end of the season, so I doubt Bolton will be resting anybody for the game on the last day. My hope is for a Bolton v Man City final, that could give an edge to the game on the last day too.

City's run in is much harder than people are making out. They always struggle against Everton who have hit form in the last few weeks. West Ham are battling for points and will fight for every one. Stoke and Blackburn are never easy.

Sure we have Liverpool, Chelsea and City away but we've also got four very winnable games at home.

For the record, I've been saying we'll finish top four all season, never given up the hope.

Win our home games and draw with City and we're there I reckon.

In the last few years 4th required

70, 72, 76, 68, 67

It was as far back as 2004-5 when Everton got it on 61 points..

City have 56 points and 6 games max 18
We have 53 and 7 games max 21
Scouswers have 48 and 6 games max 18 points .. win every game 66..

I think that 61 to 63 is too low for 4/5th we need about 67 points to guarantee 4/5th

Its going to be tough and basically we have to beat everyone and draw against Liverpool and Chelsea:beer:

This is what can make the difference imo. Besides us, City only have 2 home games, we have 4.

City are not going to have any easy away games and neither are we, but I'm glad that our remaining away games are against tough teams, we seem to be stepping up in these games and any upset will be unexpected and put the pressure on City big time.

Much better than having the tough games at home imo.

Had our game with City not been putt off, we would of been facing them this weekend without Tevez!!! Just worth a mention, no point in moaning about it.

They dont play again for two weeks, Blackburn away. That will be a really tough game, Blackburn will really battle and scrap.

Its conceivable that we could be 3 points ahead of them by the time they next play, what an advantage that could be!

Big if mind, the small matter of the Scum and then a much improved West Brom to negotiate.

But imagine it....3 points ahead, then settle down on the Monday night to cheer on the mighty Blackburn!!!

Thats a big assumption obviously. We need to beat the scum IMO, we have to make use of this game hand, its so imperative for me because Chelsea and Liverpool away are simply tougher games.

I wouldn't say that we need to beat them. It would certainly be a major help, as well as a majopr psychological boost.

If we draw with Arsenal, we would be two points behind City, and if we beat City away, then we would be one point ahead - obviosuly some more daylight between us would be nice, but it wouldn't necessarily be essential.

Even if we were to beat Arsenal and only draw with City, we would be level on points with them, but they would be ahead on goal difference.

A draw against Arsenal and it is still very much in our own hands (as it is in City's)

6 points against Scum and West Brom would be massive and put us in the driving seat, City would need an away win against Blackburn to stay even and that will not be easy. I think they'll only get a draw at Blackburn.

Arsenal also have Liverpool on the Sunday to contend with, but then again we'll have West Brom shortly after Arsenal....I expect Harry to use the squad well over those 3 days.

Appreciated.
Just that we have won all of last 3 games against Goons, two of last three against Scousers (and the away game they lost they had a big helping hand from ref), and honours pretty even with Chelsea in last two seasons, and yet every single time I have seen one of these run in prediction thingies they have unanimously had us down for defeats in all of these games. I put most of it down to Spurs fans trying to cushing blow of defeat before it has happened 'cos, well, Spurs always let you down. Only this is a different Spurs, and I just wish there was a little less negativity...is all:grin:

Does not compute.

Your not computing does not compute.
For 1st part, see above answer to JaiSpurs.
For second part, well a win and a draw from these games = 4 points, two wins and a draw = 7. Glad I could clear that up for you:whistle:

I tell you what, we could do with a huge performance this week against Real. If we can come out and salvage some pride we should be able to carry that momentum into the game with the goons. Give them a tonking and 4th is anyone's.

I think if we can get 8 points from Arse, Chavs, City & Pool we will make it and 7 will probably be enough!

Either way I think we will need to win 2 of those games with Arse & City being the most likely.

The thing I'm worried about most is our semi final against Barca getting in the way of our league run in.

I think there's some serious optimism going on here. Our run in is horrendous compared to City's.

I bet you are a 'your ticket is ripped in half and therefore invalid' kinda Bus-Conductor rather than 'your ticket is ripped in half but don't worry I can see the date and it's still valid' kinda conductor.

Aren't you?
