This really is crunch time for Tottenham Hotspur...this could totally wipe out any progress we've made recently.

Modric is saying that he would leave with those comments, of course he is.

Its all about how much we get now, because it will happen. United always get what they want and the fact the Modric is talking about offers, after just signing a new contract recently (?) makes me feel rather uncomfortable...actually it makes me feel sick.

The ugly truth is that we arn't at the top of footballing food chain and after failing to get fourth, on the back of some great peformances which Modric has been central too...its not surprising is it?

The League should always of been the priority....we'll pay the price for that now.

He's got 5 years left on his contract so we are firmly in control, unless we get a stupid big 40+ mil bid I doubt he'll be going anywhere this summer.

We always knew the summer was going to be like this, endless stories linking our best players to bigger clubs. Modric will always leave the door open for the likes of manure or Barca but that doesn't mean we have to sell or they'll get close to our valution.

With 5 years left on his contract there's not much he can do, Levy holds all the cards and you can bet your bottom dollar he knows how much Modders is worth in this current super inflated transfer market.

Am I the only one that isn't phased by this? He's being honest. Surely all he's saying is that if Man U offer Spurs loads of money and Levy accepts, then he will move? Hardly seems like he's angling for a move.

The way I see things, from Fergie's comments he's determined to overcome Barca. And I think he might try and do this with like for like players. Scholes is retiring, Giggs must have one or two more seasons in him max, Hargreaves is being released, Carrick has done well but plays more the Busquets type role anyway.

I would not be at all surprised to see Fergie go for Sneijder or Modric, or even both. If they were to bid about £45m i'm almost certain the club wouldn't turn it down. I'd rather we sold him abroad but realistically only Manure or Citeh would offer that much for him.

Doesn't sound like he's angling for a move, and seems to say that he will not throw his toys of the pram if we deny him a move (all good). However, I have a growing 'oh fuck not again, not to them bastards up the M6, not again - I'll cry this time, I'll actually cry, in front of my girlfriend, and she'll tell me its just a game and I'll snap and I'll kill her' feeling inside of me.

August 31 can't come soon enough.

If we get another July statement from the club accusing Manure of tapping him up then we're doomed.

Really its a shame the Ryan Giggs thing is all out in the open - we could have used it as leverage...

Levy holds the cards in terms of how much we can get, but it will be down to how much Modric insists for the move. The one hope is that he wont force it but I think United will have a few tricks up there sleeve and they will be prepared to spend big on him. They know 20 miliion wont be enough, of course they know that.

If they offer 35 million and Modric is adamant he wants to go it will probably happen. We wont know how much he'll push for it behind closed doors...that wont be in the public domain, and once players have had there head turned by United its practically inevitable...unless you're Alan Shearer.

Got to be a fan backlash if Levy sells off our stars after his end of season promise.

We won't sell him. He has 5 years left on his contract so he can't even force a move. If he does go he will have to either put in a transfer request or refuse to play for us IMO

Relax. It's not whether he goes or not thats the make or break of our shorterm future. Its how we cope with him leving if he does. We fisnihed outsode the top 4 with him this season. He's bben the standout player but we've not had a great season, an ok one but not good enough in our own ambitions eyes.

If he goes and if off the back of it we manage to change how we play that gives us more goals then we have to embrace him leaving as a positive.

United play sly games. Fergie will talk up a player call him "fantastic, a real talent yadda yadda". They then make an offer far below the players value just to show their interest officially and hopefully plant the seed in the targets head.

Anyway, what is clear - and has been for sometime tbh - is that if we don't make CL next season then our best players will be off.

That means we have 12 months to improve otherwise we stall. No excuses next year then, none of this "it's as good as it gets bullshit", standing still means falling back, time for Harry to show us that he's up for the big job and not just a one season wonder.

Woah woah woah... let's just chill a moment.

yes it was not a statement of "I will only ever play for Spurs", but he is an honest footballer. Under the right circumstances who knows.

That's what he said. So for the moment, it's nothing more than a simple interview.

Gonna be a VERY LONG summer if we all panic at the slightest shadow.

You see I disagree, we are under no requirements to sell and due to the fact he's got a 5 year contract he is contractually obliged to fulfill it. If we told him flat out he's going nowhere this summer there's sweet fuck all he could do about it. In fact we could keep him next summer too before the power started to shift to his corner but even with 3 years left on his contract we could still get maximum profit.
