I really don't see why everyone wants Rossi so much. He hasn't looked that great when I've seen him and for me he's not really suited to the Premiership. As much as it sounds a bit anti-football to say I think we should be looking for more strength and presence in our front-line. Plus I think VDV is better anyway and I'd rather have VDV off a striker than on the right.

Is there actually any substance to this rumour or is it purely hear say?

To add my two-penneth's worth, I think Forlan could prove a very shrewd signing and ultimately, even if he is deemed a short term purchase, our short term goal is to reclaim a top 4 finish - Forlan will be a more than welcome addition for this challenge.

As somebody else has already pointed out the blue and yellow reference can easily be linked to Forlan...

It makes sense the more I think about it. We know Harry has been out to watch him, the fee will have fallen dramatically and he's an extremely versatile forward with bags of experience and quality.

Even at 32, he's still a household name and it is a statement of intent IMO.

Agreed - maybe he can convince his compatriot Cavani to come along for the ride too!

Sorry, but if the cryptic ITK of Blue and Yellow is for Forlan, thats so cryptic and can be used for absolutely every player in the world.
Just say Blue, Red and White if you want to refer to Forlan, not referring to past clubs.

here's hoping

Christ I'm all excited by this news now, but it is certainly believable and viabile, this doesn't even have a hint of pipe dream about it...like say Eto'o or someone.

Modric, Van der Vaart, Benoit Assou Ekkoto, Sandro, Kranjcar.

How many times have we seen Huddlestone fail at these attempted passes? IE been closed down because of being cumbersome, lack of pace, and awareness.

He has missed placed a lot more passes than Palacios.

The man needs space created for him in order to be effective.

He needs busy bodies around him to draw space to pick out the pass.

We lose our dynamism because of this.

I could have done with you a couple of months ago. But this is the problem. Hudd is an aesthetically pleasing passer who lacks real vision or incision and gives the ball away more than any other CM we have. Football is now such a fluid and dynamic game that Hudd would have to be a Hoddle-esque visionary to compensate for his lumbering movement and poor turn-over rate of passes. And he just isn't.

I'd sell Hudd first, then Jenas and would only contemplate selling Palacios if we had someone like Diarra lined up as a replacement, not Parker who is more a Jenas replacement (ie box to box with tenacious frills).

No need to apologise to me

Nevermind the cryptic, I'm just using a bit of logic.

I don't get Forlan either. Great little player, superb in fact, but he really would operate in the way that VDV operates best for us (or should have been if Redknapp had played him the right way all season instead of RM).

If we play Forlan, where does VDV go ? Don't get it ?

Forlan can play ahead of VDV, absolutely no reason why he cant.

Thats ITK, he is at the Lodge now having a medical.

Cheers Shanks. Now can you get down there and make sure he signs?

Just realised that uruguay play in blue, and Forlan's hair is yellow...which just goes to show you can make those blue & yellow hints fit pretty much any player you want to.

Wasn't it 'alas blue and yellow'? Forlan does look like a lass with his lovely hair. And alas could also mean Forlorn which sounds a bit like Forlan.

Sorry, but if the cryptic ITK of Blue and Yellow is for Forlan, thats so cryptic and can be used for absolutely every player in the world.

Thats the beauty of cryptic ITK.

Forlan's not the answer . Rossi prob not coming. Adebayour will split the camp.
Eto'o We wish.

Tough tough desicion for our management team right now.

Get it right and the sky's the limit get it wrong and be blamed for a good number of years
of sending us backwards..

Geez hope they get it right..

I see the logic, but hope POTL doesn't claim that this referred to Forlan. As if Forlan fails, he could say its for Rossi, Adebayor or anything else that has blue and yellow linked to them that we may sign.

Perhaps, El Tel's Christmas tree formation will have a renaissance with VdV and Forlan operating behind a proper no. 9 (Adebayor?).

indeed, but its the way the cookie crumbles. To be honest I'm more interested in the player signing for us than an ITKs ego
