Forlan would offer a lot more goals than Crouch does. I can't see how this would be a bad signing.

Speaking of goals...I've only just noticed that Pav only scored one goal less than Rooney in the league last year. Very surprising that.

Dont forget Rooney was out of the team at certain points, mysterious injuries etc...due to his poor form for quite sometime. Berbatov was scoring most of the goals in the first half of the season.

indeed, but its the way the cookie crumbles. To be honest I'm more interested in the player signing for us than an ITKs ego

Yeah me too. Anyway, great player would certainly welcome the signing. Just a bit dubious that he played last night and then managing to get to lodge this morning.

I see the logic, but hope POTL doesn't claim that this referred to Forlan. As if Forlan fails, he could say its for Rossi, Adebayor or anything else that has blue and yellow linked to them that we may sign.

Can't see him doing that tbh as he's hardly a attention seeker

Yeah me too, although I think Shanks cleared that up by saying it could of been at some point today, forlan being expected at the Lodge.

Forlan can play ahead of VDV, absolutely no reason why he cant.

But who will Dawson hoof to ?

Seriously, I just don't see this as being very viable. We reject Suarez because "ee's too similar to Vanda" and we go and sign Forlan ?

Does not compute.

I could have done with you a couple of months ago. But this is the problem. Hudd is an aesthetically pleasing passer who lacks real vision or incision and gives the ball away more than any other CM we have. Football is now such a fluid and dynamic game that Hudd would have to be a Hoddle-esque visionary to compensate for his lumbering movement and poor turn-over rate of passes. And he just isn't.

I'd sell Hudd first, then Jenas and would only contemplate selling Palacios if we had someone like Diarra lined up as a replacement, not Parker who is more a Jenas replacement (ie box to box with tenacious frills).

Why don't you see if you can go a day without slagging off Huddlestone. I think we all know that you'd sell Hudd first. He only gives the ball away more than Palacios because he tries more ambitious passes.

I like Wilson and think he was crucial to us staying up in Harry's first season, but apart from Milan away I don't think he's played well for a while now. Good squad player but if we get an offer of +12m then I think we should accept and use the money to strengthen elsewhere. If he's not gonna play regularly then cash in now why his value is high.

No way I'd sell Hudd. We beat Chelsea and the Arse with Hudd and Modric playing as a 2 against a midfield 3, he really can't be the player BC tries to make him out to be (in every single post, regardless of the topic).

To be honest we'd accept him any time in the next 2 months as long as he turns up, passes and signs for us

I know where you're coming from, but Forlan is a versatile forward. There is no reason why he couldn't play ahead of VDV if the ball is kept on the deck most of the time.

Even VDV on the right, the odd time maybe, with Forlan off the striker would work.

In terms of Suarez, Forlan has a more proflic eye for goal IMO.

Instead of just looking at the number of goals scored, when judging a striker, it is also important to see whether he can score at crucial moments in games that change the results.

It is meaningless to score the lone goals at the end of a 5-1 thrashing.

Initially, I was told he was at the lodge for a medical today.

I queried if thats the case from people posting here to say that medicals don't happen at the lodge and that he played last night.

The response was that his medical IS booked for today (at some point) and he will be at the lodge (at some point) today.

This has come from a player who is also at the lodge, that's all I have (and that the player has sorted some tickets for an upcoming pre season friendly :) for me!).

If we sign Forlan then VDV can do his best Riquelme impression and replicate their Villarreal form.

So was Pav. though. Rooney played more games as well.

Is the fee for Forlan £7M? If so thats O'Hara plus change (for Levy). If we pass on him we may not get another player of his quality willing to come to us. It would also give us the rest of the window to look for someone else if we really are interested in shifting all our strikers.

So was Pav. though. Rooney played more four games more as well.

I think its because Rooney came back in with a burst, that affects perception.

Not sure what the fee would be for Forlan, but it will be considerably lower than what they were quoting us in January I would imagine.

a fee of 7million would also tie in with the ITK info saying we are looking at players under 15 million also
