Oh god, a barbers best friends, is best friends with Shay Given!
Mmm Adebayor what?
I have mentioned in other posts (most likely the Adebayor thread) that the Arsenal fans I spoke to have been laughing at the prospect of us signing him and saying that he is offside continiously and has little mroe than power and pace.
I raised the potential issue of us seeing him perform well against us and his goals in highlights and having a rose tinted view of his skills as a result.
Or of course the arsenal fans could have an agenda against him over the whole MAn City goal run from half way line incident.
I dunno, I have not watched enough of him personally to know whether I have the inacurrate from a far view or whether he is consistantly as good as he seems whenever I have seen him.
Time will tell I guess
SP, are you Neil Oliver from BBC's Coast?
We have to consider that he has played CL footy and scored for Monaco, Arsenal and Real Madrid, and I'd suggest that Man City saw something to tempt him from the scum with pots of cash. That many people can't be wrong, can they?
Nah...he's like the pussy-ass version of SP:wink:
I have very few if any doubts that he would be a great success for us. I am just saying I must conceed that I have not actually seen enough of him to argue his merits with an arsenal fan who has watched him a million times so I reserve judgement to an extent.
What is people obsession with money, if we get 30 million for Lennon, 50 for modric we should sell ???? I remember when we sold carrick for 18 mil and laughed but it set us back a season or two.The problem we have got is shifting some of the fringe players so we don't have players claiming a wage and not even registered to play in the premier league. The Money is there to buy players no doubt.

Great point. The money we would get in is only useful if it is used to improve the team by buying a replacement/upgrade.
Sorry if this takes things a bit off course, but we have but we have been linked with him both this transfer window and the last...
Very interesting that none of the usual big guns have come in for him. If he really is The Next Big Thing, there is no way he'd be passed up by all the big clubs so he can go chase long balls up in Sunderland. This kid has been scouted with such scutiny that most clubs must know if he clips his pubes - and it seems that he has been deemed not good enough.
But from what I've seen of him - and, I'm far from a good judge on player potential - he looks decent. He's still very, very young, has size and a bit of skill. For £8M (possibly going up to £13M) i think he'd be a bargain.
Seems odd that we're passing this one up. Under £10M for a possible future England #9 is a steal.
