Lol, Im just being honest, Mata rossi, vucinic, diarra, llorente etc all pipe dreams for us fans. You might see Keane leaving with adebayor coming in, but that's the height of it.

Mata - Unrealistic i agree
Rossi - Unlikely but you never know
Vucinic - If we class him as unrealistic then we should give up and accept our place amonst the Villa's and Everton's
Diarra - Played under Harry at Portsmouth and appears to be transfer listed. Our relationship with Madrid also seems pretty good
Llorente - Probably unrealistic too because of the whole presidency issue and the Basque thing

Can see adebayor joining, maybe a fee or a loan but as someone else said before, city will have to sub part of the wages. He is realistically our best choice of a striker, not wanted by city nor no one else, unless Jose has a change of heart. Vucinic I can't see leaving with the investment roma has seen so far, new coach etc. There will be other clubs interested in diarra, that can offer better wages and cl.

Vucinic wants to leave, and the chairman was talking about him not going on the cheap...not rocket science that they're looking to do business if the price is right.

I dont think thats the idea, you mean putting VDV on the right then I take it.

We need a forward to play ahead of VDV where he is best - and that is most definitely in behind a forward.

I sincerely hope we are moving towards 4-2-3-1.

That's the point..........as good a player as Rossi is........he will be of little use as a lone striker in this league..........so why is Harry interested in him?

We could move to that formation if we bring in someone like Diarra and play 2 x DM's.I would love to see VDV in the center of the 3 but I don't think we have the players for the other 2 spots.

There has been a few players linked that we would have a chance with, but these are unknowns or not proven players at the highest level. It's a bit late trying to sign marquee players, if you didn't do it last season.

two schools of thought on this:

1) Rossi can play on the shoulder and with his movement and the ball kept on the deck - it could be pretty devestating with VDV, Lennon and Bale providing & linking up with him...although this League is physical.

2) we need that uber type, one who will hold the ball up, can play with their back to goal at times - and can bring others into play, no more so the likes of VDV, bringing the best out of him and benefiting the overall team dynamic...offering a more powerful focal point up top.

A bit like the modric situation then, with the same conclusion, he stays.

HAs anyone noticed that we haven't confirmed the 27 million bid or transfer request? I bet levy throwing the offers in the bin without a response.

SSN confirmed no Modric Transfer request, has any ITK confirmed this? Not sure where they got their info from though.

Jenas isn't a world beater, but he's a far better player than most give him credit for, and the man deserves some respect.

Yes he's played poorly for us. He's also played brilliantly for us. He's never complained when dropped to the subs bench, but has put in some of the best subs performances for Spurs in recent years.

He's clearly seen as a bit of a joke by some.

I see him as a talented player that lacks the natural inclination towards consistency. He's no Messi, but he's a hell of a lot better than a lot of people are making him out to be...and the truth is we're lucky that he's prepared to be a utility player.

Imagine you went on holiday to Bulgaria and say for instance they confiscated your passport and they wouldn't let you leave the country because you had done something silly...........while in custody you go on a hunger strike until the British Embassy comes to your aid and gets you out of the country.

Simple question...............would you ever go back?

Neither will Berbatov.

Agreed. Gets a lot of stick for no real reason.

I still believe Llorente is possible, but we won't sign him if we get Vucinic. Rossi was never going to happen.

I would 100% take Jenas before Jon Obi Konobe Mikel every single day of the week!

Ha yeah, I was waiting for someone to mention that, I almost did in my first post! One of my favourite displays ever I think ! I'm just worried by the stacks of evidence suggesting otherwise.

Berba's at his best playing close to another intuative player, Rooney, Keane.. because he is excellent playing one two's. either providing the though ball or quick as lightning [Berba' version] reading the other players pass. He's also good at taking balls played up to him and holding the ball up and if it's central will join back into the move. Trouble is out wide he often gets left behind by play getting ahead of him. His speed is of thought and maybe first 2-3 yards. Might be remind us of Crouch when he's the lone striker trying to keep up with Bale & Lennon, before he only had Lennon and didnt always have to keep up as Robbie shared the role.
