No deal for the unmentionable one will be anything but bitter.

I wasn't necessarily advocating such a move but it may be an option considering it's looking less likely Chelsea will stump up the desired amount to cross Levy's palm with.

I wouldn't want to get rid of Naughton both him and Walker are young in terms of games played, I would loan him out to a mid table club or QPR(cause of warnock) and see how he develops

Naughton may develop in to a better RB than walker, no one knows whats going to happen

From what I`ve seen so far that looks very unlikely, but you never know.

I still can't believe so many people think it's remotely realistic that City will loan Adebayor to us, a direct competitor, and subsidize his wages!

As his agent has pointed out, there are other teams in Europe that are interested in him and who City undoubtedly would prefer he go to. If City were to loan him, why wouldn't they give him to a team that isn't a rival of theirs, like Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Lille, Leverkusen, or Marseille. All of these teams can afford the same amount, if not more wages than we can, some offer Champions League, and they need strikers, too.

Vucinic is clearly the best we can do this summer, in my opinion. He'd be a quality signing, but I wonder what the price is that Roma is asking for. I see that Sabatini, Roma's sporting director, is said to be in Amsterdam in order to sign Stekelenburg from Ajax (a player we should've been after, by the way).

The other question is, with Rossi to Juventus cooling down, will Juventus come back for Vucinic? They were interested in him a few weeks ago, and Vucinic's agent said that Juve were the type of club Mirko would be open to moving to.

I doubt they view as a direct competitor now and stranger things have happened, I certainly didn't expect VDV last summer.

That said its a complicated possibility and Vucinic does seem much more likely.

ITK suggests that talks are advanced between us and Roma so I would expect this to move pretty quickly now. Wouldn't be surprised to see a fee agreed between the two Clubs tomorrow or Friday.

The thing is that unless Adebayor is willing to take a paycut, nobody but Real or Barca can afford him and even they would struggle. He's paid too much. So City can't sell him and will end up loaning him out and subsidizing his wages. Not to us, mind you. But to somebody.

Is that a clue to your source VY? Maybe you could get your mate to bend his ear and get him to talk city into it?!!

That Affelay bit is very interesting, he'd be a nice loan signing if his wages weren't too much.

by the way I havn't heard the interview with Adebayor's agent yet, but was he ruling out the possibility of a loan move right now, or was he ruling out any move full stop...because if he mentioned we had players to sell, perhaps a permanent move is a possibility

If you were that sure surely a bet of £1000 would be better, really shows your confidence:hump:

He said it wasn`t impossible, but it would be a difficult deal to do.

you serious?? :bang:
What, that we might stand a chance? Well yeah.

All i'm saying is if we sign a striker now, say Vucinic, we can still look to sign that one special striker as the window comes to a close. There's nothing wrong with us trying for the very top players. Even if the chances of getting them are so small.

If the likes of Aguero, Rossi and Adebayor are still at their current clubs come the end of the wiindow then there's a chance. They're all available at a price and if we're the only option then it's not totally unrealistic for either of them.

I wonder what with Lukaku looking likely to join Chelsea whether this means they will try to offload one of Anelka or Kalou and if they try to add one as a sweetener in a new Modric bid.

Just a thought...

Keep your thoughts to yourself:whistle:

No, I know you weren't.

I just can't pass any comment, no matter how innocuous, without maknig it clear that any deal this Summer is unacceptable in my opinion.
