I think a lot of the disappointment in this forum stems from the weekly occurrence of one person taking the ITK as a forgone conclusion and decides a transfer is basically done, i.e. Diarra yesturday. The ITK spreads like wildfire across the whole forum until the next day people wake up with an anti-climax and decide that the apocalypse will take place at White Hart Lane on the opening day of the season. Personally I think our lack of signings is a combination of being unable to get rid of the deadwood and the fact that there isn't actually anyone available or attainable who will improve our shit crop of strikers!

Agree with this, I think a lot of the clubs we are trying to sell our surplus stock to, are struggling to balance the books, and are looking for bargains.
I believe the excessive wages are starting to have an impact.
I admire Mike Ashley's stand at NUFC, no ageng players on long contracts, the fans may not like it but reality has to kick in.

So let's just take the hits on Bentley, Keane, Jenas etc. What are those realistically wagered against consistent CL placings, the subsequent financial rewards and a raised European profile? It's literally now or never.

Couple of short phone calls there.

Maybe, but there are a couple of places where he would slot in pretty well if he can get his head together. Stoke and Fulham spring to mind with aerial threat and coaches who may be able to get him playing.

We need to see Sparky Hughes back in a job and soon for anything permanent to happen there.

Bentley would have to drop his wage demands to about £10K a week and have a personality transplant for anyone to even consider employing him. I'd imagine levy must be seriously contemplating trying to negotiate a deal with bentley where we pay off the rest of his contract at slightly reduced wages and give him a free transfer and the chance to play football ever again. Not that he'd accept. Watching him laugh and joke with Alan Hutton during the orient game about how little effort they were putting in was very sad indeed. Poor man's Winston Bogarde.

Maybe Bolton could show some interest... their RM (Lee) will be out for at least half a season...

Don't understand guys who say sell our players for whatever we can get for them and then pay top dollar and top wages for the players they want us to bring in.

Financial suicide!

although not selling them and paying them £60k a week to not play is not that clever either

Sorry but I am getting a bit annoyed at the calls to just flog JJ as quickly as humanly possible. He is a good squad player, who can we get to replace him with to sit on the bench? and a player who would need to be content to sit there? The guy has been part of our 4 best ever finishes to a premier league season (5th and 4th places)

Since he has been here we have finished in the top 6 4 years out of 6....in all the premier league seasons before his arrival we did not manage to place higher than 7th. Obviously the squad as a whole has improved and not saying he has been a massive part of our success but he has been a factor.

He has played over 200 games for the club. I just wish people would show a little respect....appologies that this isn't really ITK related.

Just seen this on COYS re Crouch to Everton:

Noodles on FTL hinting that that's where he might end up with a cryptic remark "Crouch can score for toffee"

Anyone on FTL that can check it out...wheres Biz when you need him???

Others are asking if it could be for part of a deal that involves Rodwell?

We wouldn't dare play against Everton having sold them a striker, and not replaced him...leaving us even more weakened in that position than we are now? Would we?

The need to sell before we buy really leaves me anxious about this window. Largely because I can just see us selling, then the striker we are after (or their club) turns us down...leaving us with Frazier Campbell..on loan..with no option to buy.

Yep, with Gera going, Fulham could be a good option.

Also, if Crouch goes to Everton, they can have Bentley half price.

Those bids were eye brow raisers to say the least...at the last hour we sling in multi million pound bits left right and centre.

Its a fact we put them in, whats not a fact is the expectation they would be realised in any shape, way or form.
