10 days until Everton, this is the last day for a £20 donation, before it drops to £10. Why can't we just get some business done fucking EARLY!? Where's the time to bed in with the squad? Pure fucking shite.

VDV is world class and can play with anyone.

He's scored regularly at every club he's been at, without needing a 6'7'' partner. anyone playing with Crouch would get 5-6 knock down goals a season. I think your confusing VDV as a striker hes's not, he's an attacking midfield playmaker. It was because of the talent we have in midfield that he was used in a more forward role, and because Harry thought he was better a better player than all of our strikers.

Harry really didnt find a way to play VDV without disrupting our pattern of play which also helped with the decline of our strikers goal tally. It was a case of he's such a good player[and name] we have to play him, but I like the midfielsd as it is where shall we play him?

vdv has to play so it's about finding a striker intelligent enough to play infront of him.

I think a reluctance to drop VDV when he was clearly struggling for form was one of our big problems last year. No player should be automatic choice unless his form demands it.

If we sign someone before the Bilbao game, I'll donate £20. Promise.

Oh come on, give them a chance they've only had 2 years, we all know that you need at least three with the meagre resources we have at our disposal!

So Diarra has gone from being 'done' to 'agent speaking to 2 or 3 clubs'.

We can't get rid of him until we bring in a replacement. Like it or not he's still the best partner for VdV.

But that's not how we work. We'll sell Crouch and Defoe then at the last minute we'll bring in Frazier Campbell on loan, with no option to buy.

sometimes, i feel if we sold the players on cheap, we could get some players on cheap

like if we sold Keane for £2m, we could ended up with Forlan for cheap, can't see Atletico Madrid doing business at the end of the transfer window !

That sir, is a very very valid point.

Just to let you know guys,

The stresses of Our Transfer Activity and Highs and Lows have resulted in my finding my first Grey Hair.

Not impressed.

I think a lot of the disappointment in this forum stems from the weekly occurrence of one person taking the ITK as a forgone conclusion and decides a transfer is basically done, i.e. Diarra yesturday. The ITK spreads like wildfire across the whole forum until the next day people wake up with an anti-climax and decide that the apocalypse will take place at White Hart Lane on the opening day of the season. Personally I think our lack of signings is a combination of being unable to get rid of the deadwood and the fact that there isn't actually anyone available or attainable who will improve our shit crop of strikers!

Raised because of Levy? We were in a right state because of Levy before HR came in, wrong staff moves, bad deals that left the finances healthy but the team in a state.

There has been more bad decisions than good of late IMO, especially in the market. If DL is so prudent and we're run so well, then there should be money around to spend and everyone knows it should have been spent a long time ago.

The reason why it's so frustrating is that we were shite for SO long and now we're SO close to a real challenge, one or two players from it and what are we doing? Praying for a striker with 10 days to go until the season starts, with our competition for the Top 4 (and some) pretty much all having strengthened. Yeah, fucking brilliant. Enjoy your holiday Daniel!

It's not good enough tbh!

We only just missed out on CL last year with what we have
Our strikers are statistically unlikely to be as woeful two seasons in a row
We know the club are trying to improve on what we have
I think it will all be fine.

The day won't be today. The buildup could start today but more likely tomorrow with a deal on fri IMHO (not ITK). Diarra could happen I guess
