Absolutely right. If they were serious bids, why would we put them in at such a late stage that there was not physically time to complete them. Again, if they were serious bids, how come we didn't go straight back at the end of the window and put in the same or similar bids? Or some sort of bid at least? Can anyone answer that?

Crouch to Everton is believable given links there although it might actually be toffees Everton offer to us rather than cash.

I've got a couple of mates who are Everton season ticket holders and they feel the same way about Rodwell as most of us feel about Jenas - they would be delighted to get shot, think he's incredibly overrated.

I seriously don't get the Rodwell hype. It's almost like a myth. Has anyone actually seen him play football lately? . He's been atrocious and every everton fan I know wants him to be sold.

What I find interesting is that apparently we almost had Rossi for 18M in the previous summer...Somebody made a major fuck up there.
