are people mixing up there Neymar's and Nilmar's? Naymar's the show pony who looks like a Cock(atoo) and was rubbish at the Copa America.

Would prefer Nilmar to Rossi TBH, gives more flexibility within our squad

Nilmar, Neymar, Naymar...let's just get one of them in. C'mon Levy get it done!

A new deal for Jenas? Are they serious?!

Yes, he's a good player, British, on reasonable wages and willing to fight for a place. What do you want? replace him with a player from abroad who will demand to play or quit? He's part of a squad and not as bad a part as many fans like to think.

Yes.

Good player, always puts in 100%, can be brilliant at times and takes up one of our homegrown positions.

Makes alot of sense.
We've enough home grown for that not to be an influential factor.

100% is questionable. If that's your opinion then I'd accept that but certainly don't share it.

Brilliant at times isn't good enough. Otherwise we can keep hold of Bentley. Hutton. Niko. Defoe. Keane. Crouch. Pav. In fact lets not sell anyone. New contracts for all!!!

Good player is extremely questionable. If that's your opinion then I'll accept it, but I certainly, certainly don't share it.

Makes alot of sense.

AKA the mid air volley out to VDV away at Bremen in the build up to Crouch's header.

That technique was insane.

I know that it all picked up pace again yesterday, what with pretty good sounding info coming from all directions but please don't turn this into a blue and yellow thread again!

If we're lucky, we may find out what it was all about by the end of the window but at present, all we're seemingly achieving is massaging potl's ego and encouraging him to keep going on about it!

Pretty much every possible option has been covered now so the only point in carrying on is to be able to say "Aha, see I told you all, aren't I great?!".

Jeez, I think I'm a tad tired and grotchity this morning.
I'll go away now....

Wouldnt you rather have one of our young up and coming players on the bench instead? Jenas wont be on small wages and he doesnt contribute any more than Bostock/Townsend/Livermore would.

I've seen comments along the lines of 'If a deal for Rossi is off, then Yellow must be Llorente etc' Why must that be so? Why couldn't Rossi have been Yellow and POTL has got it (shock horror) WRONG?

I don't understand why B&Y must be made to fit whoever we may sign.

Also, I can understand cryptics when there's a good reason behind them, but this B&Y business, if the long term target stuff is to be believed concerns players whose names have long been associated with a transfer to THFC, rending the need for a cryptic at all to be about as useful as a one legged man in an arse kicking contest.

If the use of a cryptic in this instance wasn't to protect source or sensitive info, which as i've said seems highly unlikely, then it was all about ego all along.

The voice of sanity. I wanted to say this for ages but didn't want a ban.

The thing with Adebayor's wages, and that of every player that has joined City since Sheikh Mybooty took over, is that he must've known that he was getting a once in a lifetime deal.

City paid way over the odds in terms of wages for a lot of player, and those players have got to be absolute idiots if they think they can maintain the same wage if they leave the club.

I remember saying a few years ago that there'd be a lot of players who'd happily join Man City, tread water for a couple of years while earning massive amounts of money before moving on to a new club with wages more in line with their actual ability.

Last day before a weeks holiday so would be nice to know that a signing was in the bad before i go

Eek

This!

Although with VDV in the team it would be one or the other!

Unless they complimented one another - in which case we would have the option of going 4-4-2 when VDV was injured, in need of a rest, or off form, or as a tactical switch when we were really chasing a game.

Enough of the Jenas hate, already. He came in and actually put in some performances that were voted MOTM, including votes by many self-confessed anti-JJs, last season, when called upon due to injuries, and, as stated several million times, he isn't whingeing about being on the bench.
When players whinge about not playing you biatch and moan about them. When they don't whinge, but get on with it, you biatch and moan:roll:
Stop it, it's boring.

For those saying LLorente is yellow, why? What is yellow that is associated to him.

Not satisfied with cryptics, he's moved on to tongue twisters...

You think Barton will be happy to play a squad role without kicking up a fuss like Jenas does? We'd be all over twitter within a week or two

I think the fact Redknapp has spoken publicly about Rossi and that there was definately an accredited interest in him January time, to which POTL alluded to, especially with all the 'bup bup Americano' malarkey I think it's safe to put 2 & 2 together here.

This.

les ferdinand and shearer were very similair as well

Now you've confused me, although that was a long time ago and football has changed a bit since then.

I've seen comments along the lines of 'If a deal for Rossi is off, then Yellow must be Llorente etc' Why must that be so? Why couldn't Rossi have been Yellow and POTL has got it (shock horror) WRONG?

Pop yourself in the sin-bin for ten minutes A&C. Actually I think I might join you in there because I pretty much agree with all that you've said. Unless B&Y is a long term target that we don't know about (like Kaka for example) then I don't get the need for the cryptic. Or at least the need to continue the cryptic.

I'm going to just sit back and watch the B&Y come to it's conclusion and keep my fingers crossed that POTL really does have an ace up his sleeve somewhere.

This Diarra deal is dragging a bit, surely it can't be that hard to get it sewn up already.

Those under 21 can be there as well but we do need 8 players over 21 from the UK so we have

Bale, Dawson, King, Hudd, Walker, Lennon who we want in the first squad

then

Jenas, Defoe, Crouch, Bentley, Hutton

looking at that you could have Townsend and Livermore and Jenas making up the 8 and lose JD Crouch DB and Hutton. As for Bostock i would not consider him a better player than JJ personally and the other 2 have yet to prove they are better either. We cannot be gung ho and just get rid of all the players some people don't think are world class as we'd end up with a bunch of youth players that may or may not be up to the challenge.
