That's the other sensible option. The thinking goes that if 'blue and yellow' were to influence Modric into staying (as POTL said they would) then it can't be Leandro.

Also I think the smart money is on Leandro signing in January.

If Blue and Yellow was simply Adebayor (Man City/Blue) and Rossi (Villareal/Yellow) then POTL deserves no credit as it could equally apply to any player from Chelsea, France, Italy, Brazil, etc.

Really hope that wasn't the solution as it makes the whole thing pointless.

I think the names behind B&Y are changing to suit the ITK to be honest. All of the targets bar Llorente have been discussed by Harry in the press already. So why the secrecy?

I've seen comments along the lines of 'If a deal for Rossi is off, then Yellow must be Llorente etc' Why must that be so? Why couldn't Rossi have been Yellow and POTL has got it (shock horror) WRONG?

I don't understand why B&Y must be made to fit whoever we may sign.

Also, I can understand cryptics when there's a good reason behind them, but this B&Y business, if the long term target stuff is to be believed concerns players whose names have long been associated with a transfer to THFC, rending the need for a cryptic at all to be about as useful as a one legged man in an arse kicking contest.

If the use of a cryptic in this instance wasn't to protect source or sensitive info, which as i've said seems highly unlikely, then it was all about ego all along.

I agree with Peanut that Blue and Yellow might have meant Rossi initially and now might mean Adebayor plus someone else.

I think if you look through all the 'Blue and Yellow' posts it's hard to see how they tally up to the same two players throughout.

As for why POTL is using cryptic...who knows. But don't make me ban you for ITK abuse A&C :grin:

What I am still a little hazy on is POTL's need to keep referring to the targets as 'blue & yellow'.

If it's to protect the identity of the targets to safeguard the deal, then it wouldn't be Adebayor, Rossi, Llorente, Leandro etc, because the world and his wife know that we've been sniffing round them for a while.

Either he's(POTL) talking about players that we've yet to be linked with, or we haven't solved his cryptic, or some third reason.

Still don't understand the signing of Diarra when Modric, Huddlestone, Sandro, Jenas are all going to be here, and Livermore and Palacios too at this rate.

Either ade or llor would turn us into title contenders.

hope this helps.. we need extra strength , legs and class in middle of field. alot of games this season. more players who make a difference the better.

Why Rossi?

I thought that Nilmar was the one that was looking the most likely for Yellow, particularly as Villareal sold the other fella off and weren't in need of the Rossi money.

Not to mention that he wasn't interested in us but, allegedly, Nilmar was.

I am serious. I am not having a laugh. Sorry to disappoint you.

Unlike some reactionary fans I can see the benefits of a player like Jenas. Yes he won't start many games and no he doesn't set the world alight but he is an extremely useful squad member, particularly with the new homegrown rules.
