GFTS is just as meaningless as "Blue and Yellow", it's far far too vague to start making guesses on and could be applied to virtually anyone.
I've clarified this before.

Yes, gfts related to Mata, I've told one of you lot by PM before it came out in the public, I also stated our interest in Lavezzi right at the very start of the window.

GFTS is clearly showing the type of target we are after and although Mata is first choice, we are obviously looking at alternatives, such as Lavezzi.

Don't really feel I should be reading some of these posts but oh well.

Diarra and Rossi would leave me so underwhelmed. Neither are what we need at all, though if Wilson is about to leave then Diarra would make sense. That said, selling Wilson and signing a more expensive replacement seems daft when it's not something we need to do from a footballing or financial perspective.

Diarra is a massive upgrade on Palacios. We are effectively replacing a 4th choice central midfielder for a midfielder who has the quality to genuinely compete forva starting position.

Wilson was badly needed when we were in the shit but we have moved on from that and need as many players as possible to unlock defenses

Replacing Keane with Rossi doesn't even need explaining

Do I understand it correctly, that our only "ITK" for Rossi comes from a guy on COYS who actually says he is no ITK?

Cheers for the info. I'm sure if you had more info you would share but do u feel the player would be interested in a move to us and how serious is our interest?

Think BBLG means Rossi and Diarra* aren't the type of players we need, not that they aren't an upgrade on what we have.

Are you for real?!? Yeah, in an ideal world I'd rather Xavi and Eto'o, but...

Are you nuts? Diarra is miles ahead of WP and Rossi is exactly the type of striker we need, if we got both I would be overwhelmed.

Diarra may be better than Palacios, but Palacios is 4th/5th choice at our club. He is probably better than Huddlestone, but Huddlestone is pretty good anyway and is 3rd choice. 1st choice are Modric and Sandro, neither of whom Diarra is better than. So we will be making a net loss (a pretty large on I'd imagine) to bring in a high wage earner to improve our strongest, most in depth part of the squad, on the one part of the pitch which one could say our starting two is as good as any other anywhere barring Barca.

Then you have Rossi. Very good player, far better striker than we have, but unless you think VDV is about to lose his place (which he isn't, by the way) then what is the point of signing a striker who cannot play alone. We have 4 of those already. Rossi is a superior version (based on last season alone and no other, by the way) of Defoe. However, he is also as useless to the system we are most likely to regularly use as Defoe. That's a pretty big waste of £30m. Obviously he's a top striker, but he's just not what we need and while I hope he rams those words down my throat, I can't see it happening unless he's paired with a big man (probably Crouch). That means either VDV on the right, or VDV not in the side, both of which are ridiculous suggestions.

Very serious. We wouldn't be pursuing if we didn't think we had a chance. However as has been said it's a very hard sell, will drag on, wouldn't say it's likely though.

At least someone here is capable of inferring what is clearly and obviously implied. That must mean he has one of those meaty thinky type things inside his skull that sends out signals and stuff to make stuff happen and shit.

Did you ever tell us what GFTS means? I'm quite new here!

BBLG you're basing this on the assumption that Harry is going to play the same system, although it wouldn't surprise me, there is a possibility that we see something different.

Sandro and Diarra in a two infront of the back four would be strong, very strong infact and for me Diarra is better on the ball than Wilson and still offers the same sort of tenacity.

As for Rossi, I understand your point and an uber type would be amazing...however Rossi could still play ahead of VDV - keeping the ball on the deck with good movement could still prove a very exciting formula.

I reckon Harry thinks he can convince Rossi to come. Villareal sold Cazorla to Malaga, and Villareal are a pretty small club so Rossi might feel they are on the way down and he might as well move now. Harry's job would be to convince Rossi we are on the way up and Villareal are on the way down, and we are the better short term and long term choice. Then show him the money!!!

this transfer window is giving me weird muscle twitches in my cheek now.... That is ITK, and upsetting.

Apart from that, I know a girl who slept with Cudicini, and she says he's absolutely fine now..... Meh.
