Yup, agreed. I have a feeling we'll start V Everton with Crouch and Defoe up top.

I generally hate, -Vdv, the way we do deadline signings.

On the other hand, if we did all our business by mid-June, there'd be no T%ransfer Rumours forum.

The mail have got the player AND the price wrong. Other than that, they're spot on

That 30 mins could be crucial

I'm just thinking say the Rossi bid is true these big deals take ages to complete, why not slap a bid in on the 1st of July? I'll never understand this transfer thing, it seems so simple but people make it so hard.

It is hard to get the timing right. Unfortunately, in the previous windows we have had our fingers burnt waiting til last minute shopping for bargains. I'd have hoped that we'd have learnt our lesson with the last windows and got out business done early but that's not gonna be the case.

Must be said though that it is not entirely the boards fault. Teams like Man United can get their business done early because not only do they have the funds but any player in the world would want to play for them so the deal is made much easier. Unfortunately for us, I think the players are leaving us in limbo a bit and waiting to see if bigger clubs comes in for them (EG Adebayor-Madrid) and if no one does then maybe they'll be happy to join. I just hope we have several deals part way through the works so we can bring in quality players before the end of the window.

have we not put bids in before?

cant remember who we have
we might have put bids in and had them rejected. Moved onto other targets and the same happened.

So gone back to Rossi with an improved bid.

Oh I don't know, my head is spinning everytime I come on here  everyday is different, last week it was all about Adebayor, over the weekend it was all Llorente and now its back to Rossi. If you ask me we are going round in circles without getting anywhere

In all honesty, would that be a bad thing?????

If Spurs had every transfer wrapped up by mid - june, it would give the team time to gel and then surely we'd all be a lot happier, no?

I remember reading somewhere that Villareal will sell if the right price came in regardless of what Rossi wanted.

The Pav to Newcastle story, mate?

Yep. Try Defoe!

We actually don't really want to sell! Unless we get someone in... maybe there is legs in the latest Rossi bid? Remarkable timing if not...

Defoe has already pooh poohed going to Newcastle. He's not gonna change his mind. Unless he suddenly thinks "fuck London, maybe I'd be safer in Newcastle... don't want anyone looting my crib" or whatever.

:eek:mg: the club is already expecting to not bring in a striker?? or just one while keeping pav/crouch/defoe and if we landed Rossi he'd be the 2nd new striker and replace one of those?

Just thinking about POTL's "Wilson out, Diarra in" comments.. didn't he say the same before about Bentley out and Beckham in? Neither happened. Suddenly don't want to get my hopes up about Diarra now.

honestly mate, I've heard a lot less this window (for one reason or another) hopefully I'll be hearing a lot more later on! No idea, that was pure assumption and I should've said as much! I just heard we don't particularly want to sell JD but Newcastle want him. All I know
