No ITK would break news on Modric before the media. They're all over this Modric story in this window. If anything remotely close to happening comes up we'll hear from the media about it.

In all seriousness though I can understand why Daniel Levy is hesitant to splash the cash when we have such a large squad. I can't wait for a few of these players to go out the door. I will feel much more confident in us bringing a few in when that happens.

Would people take Rossi, Diarra and Benayoun in, Modric out?

I think I would (but prefer Sturridge to Benayoun).

Said he heard it from someone on the Benayoun side who he described as Bullish about it.

Can't see why Levywould change his stance as Luka is hardly playing up and striking etc

Sounds about right.

Except that I don't know what to believe anymore when it comes to ITK, rumours, media links, agent talk, player pledges, chairman quotes, fees, wage demands X, Y, Z, etc.


These last few TW's have tested my patience, but this one has broken it.

I don't know much about Benayoun tbh, is he any good? There are plenty of good midfielders about as a Modric replacement, just a matter if getting a club to sell us one.

Not really a fan of Benayoun. If we got straight cash of around £50m+ for Modric it'd be worth it to accept although on the basis of principles we really cannot sell him. Football needs someone to not cave in to richer clubs

and why am I replaying Donna Cullen's word back in mind after instantly dismissing them as posturing....:think:

in other words have we known all along that Modric will be sold, we'll have the funds to buy Rossi which would placate the fans...and then address the midfield gap with Diarra...

Nah - its bollox, isn't it?

Well the other rumour tonight is Modric to Madrid for Benzema + Canales + cash, which is much more believable IMO (although Madrid would need to have a release clause with Valencia).

We've not heard anything new (though last we heard a few weeks back, Arry wasn't confident he'd still have Modric by 1st September).
