I would be very surprised if the 'pairs' does not relate to Wilson and Crouch going to Stoke. I know an ITK said that Crouch doesn't want to go there but if it a choice of playing regular football or sitting on our bench and ruining his England chances I would be surprised if he doesn't leave.
Isn't apples and pears = stairs?
Something to do with Crouch or we are increasing the height of one of the stands. :bang:

I thought the quotation around pairs kind of eliminated it as CRS. But even if it didn't, who matches the "airs" rhyme. I can't think of anybody but I haven't finished my second cup of coffee either.

Agree but I suspect what we see is Bassong out and a replacement in, my guess would be Bassong plus cash to Bolton with Cahill coming the other way.

Marca reported earlier that Falcao and Osvaldo are going to Atl Madrid (€35 + Elias for Falcao). Seems like he's out of our reach, can't see Levy spending €35 million right now. Hulk would be amazing though. Hulk, Ade + Ruiz in a 4-3-3, crazy!

This is what I don't get. Kaboul would be blocked from the first team by virtue of the fact we are paying 15m for Cahill so he will play next to Dawson who can't be dropped as he is captain. Why not just play Kaboul and use Bassong as backup??

Or equally, if Bassong was to go, just use Caulker as our CB back-up, rather than loaning him out.
Yes loaning him will be good for him, but he's already demonstrated his talent, and what's the point of bringing him through and getting guys like Khumalo (both of whom would be happy to sit on the bench) if we're then going to spend millions on someone who would pretty much ensure they'll never play...

Maybe Levy and Redknapp are actually thinking before they buy in this respect, as Cahill will a) count as home grown and b) as a result of a his value will only rise as the likes of Chelsea and others realise they need to up their English contingent.
Edit: I am with Bobbins on this one, I would have much rather we gave Caulker time to play than buying in a new CB

I think 'pairs' means transfers will happen in pairs...i.e. one in one out.
