I can onlu see Levy letting Chelsea announce Modric if on the same day we announce Diarra, Adebayor and Rossi. Levy knows we'd all be pissed if he sold Luka after what he said unless he had something spectacular for us.

ok here goes...

Or selll Luka now...Getting 30 million and a player in exchange from Chelsea (Harry wants Drogba)... And then using the 30 million on Diarra, Samba/Cahill and Parker...

Oh fuck that. Apart from Diarra that list represents a massive waste of money. I'd rather keep Modric and leave him rotting in the reserves than exchange him for that lot.

did Chelsea ever complete digning of the Belgian lad? If so they must be getting rid of a striker or two. I can see them offering cash plus stiker

Levy needs to resign if he sold Modric a la Berbatov situation.

I would not go over there again till he's gone.

Spurs would become a pointless club, charging CL prices with no real ambition.

Jog on would be my response

The season where chelski are about to drop from the top 4 we are going to sell our best player to them.

Then replacing him with 4-5 players which won't be able to play due to the 25 men squad rules. If it happens and if it is HR wish i'm going to go mental about him ...

If Arry is always talking about pushing forward, he cant honestly think we can replace Luka with Parker and Samba, that's ridiculous.

ok here goes...

Harry's comments today/last night about Modric: There is a little rift between Harry and Levy...Harry 100% believes Levy will sell him despite saying he wont. So Harry is looking at it by saying sell him now rather than on deadline day (like Berbatov) to ensure we can get replacements... HR is very frustrated with the lack of transfer activity and they are also at odds over transfer targets...There are two potential outcomes of this...Levy hurry's up in the transfer market and gets in the players Harry wants before leaving it too late.. Or selll Luka now...Getting 30 million and a player in exchange from Chelsea (Harry wants Drogba)... And then using the 30 million on Diarra, Samba/Cahill and Parker... The situation with Luka has not changed ever since his meeting with DL..He still wants out

:bang: I was much happier yesterdy, so I'm going back there. Bollox to all this Harry v Levy shit.

It all looks good, we are clearly making progress regarding transfers, Adebeyor is all but signed along with Diarra and we are all talking about Modric going to Chelsea again. I despair.

Goughmeister - presuming it's the same chappy that used to be on here - was a terrific poster, one who I had a lot of time for and a lot of banter with.

He would definitely not make stuff up. If it's the same GM, that is.

if we got £30m plus Drogba and he helped get us into the top 4 and champions league footy and two seasons out of him i think that would be a good thing, if we are back in the champions league then we can attract the likes of Rossi etc

I'd prefer £30m plus Daniel Sturridge, personally, if the worst came to the worst.

Not convinced on Samba being brought in either, surely there are better targets? Cahill from Bolton would be better.

Selling Modric and improving the squad, I'm kind of all for it. I don't think Modric is irreplacable and selling him kind of helps to change to a 4-2-3-1 formation. I don't think Modric fits into that kind of formation too well. He doesn't really have the defensive skills to play as part of the two, nor does he have the goalscoring ability to play as part of the three further forward.

Having said all that, ideally I'd like to keep Modric, he's a tremendous little player. BUT only if his head is right, which clearly it isn't, I guess.

Providing I'm not going mad, Anelka reveals he wants to leave Chelsea, Benayoun says he will announce a decision on his future this week (said to be 100% involved in Modric deal) dare I say its £30m plus these 2?

Funnily enough i have just had a text asking if we are selling luka???

Would really hope this is not true, DL would put himself in an impossible position if this is the case as he told us all that he was not for sale. Then again does make you wonder why all of a sudden Luka is not playing tonight due to a niggling groin problem
