So the next transfer window is less than two weeks away and naturally lots of generic threads with "I'd by these 5 players and sell these 5 players" appear. In reality though we are never going to complete ten transfers in January.
We have a very strong squad and aren't really lacking in any area. However, we are entering the transfer market in potentially our strongest position since the Prem began.
We have three experienced keepers so no need to buy there. We have several full backs on either side and Walker and BAE are becoming ever presents so buying a full back is out.
In central defence we have King, Kaboul, Gallas, Dawson and Bassong. With a couple of injuries already in this position and King as a ticking timebomb we could be looking to strengthen here. It's not easy to buy in January and the mot obvious target is Cahill. His contract is running out but would he be a stopgap or is he a natural partner to Kaboul?
In central midfield there's barely a place for Sandro or Huddlestone but out wide our backup is the slower and less natural widemen Pienaar and Krancjar.
Upfront we have Adebayor, Defoe and Pav as our natural strikers and VDV and Krancjar able to play behind.
We're playing great football with our fast wingmen pinning back the opposition so should we be looking at backup with similar attributes or are Piennar and Krancjar good enough to cover Bale and Lennon? Should we be looking at a harder working upgrade on Pav or should we only be looking at genuine top quality?
Do we only buy a player who'll command a first team place or do we still need to be looking at improving the squad?
