I think that he could be our 'Keeper for the next 10 years (at least) too.
I now a lot of posters are raving about Vorm (quite a few are just raving ), and from what I have seen of him he does look a good 'Keeper with a lot of potential. But I honestly do think Krul is a superstar in the making. So composed for such a young lad. Good shot-stopper, with good reactions, but, from the word go, also looks happy to take control of his six-yard box. And still so young that there is obviosly plenty of improvement in him.

He also seems quite vocal and likes to bark orders at the back four which I always like for a 'keeper to do.

Krul over Vorm all day and bar Joe Hart, would have Krul over any other 'keeper in the League for what he will bring to us long term.

Here we go! Getting my hopes up about signing Krul! Wonder if I will be disappointed again?

Wont be until the summer anyway but decent option. Next Dutch #1 for quite a few years.

Krul gives the impression that he is very happy and settled. might be hard to convince him to come down. hopefully rafa can have a little chat in his ear.

So we like Krul, could afford him and he is reasonably realistic.

Damn! It's not going to happen is it?

He seems pretty close to being as complete a 'Keeper we are gonna find at his age.

Joe Hart just has it. I remember seeing the two teams in the tunnel at the (stadium formerly known as) City of Manchester stadium last season - he has that prescence that only true top 'Keepers have. Ironic(or summit) isn't it - all that money spent and one of their most effective players was already was already at the club.

krul and leandro would be the two best long term signings we could make.

The only thing with Krul is that we'd be properly bent over.

What's his contract situation? Newcastle are hardly swimming in money so I reckon a decent offer in the summer would get him.

I think he'd be an excellent signing.

I don't see why people are questioning the Aguero bid/wage situation.

The thing with him is, he is that good there was never any doubt he would do well here, so it was never a risk and there aren't many players you can say that about.

If Aguero wanted to come here Levy would have got him, simple, but we all know City can blow anyone out of the water and they were always going to challenge this season so that would never have been a concern for the player.

In terms of Krul, I'm normally wondered about being linked with players who have only had one/half a decent season in the Prem. Liverpool are finding out the dangers of that with Henderson and Carroll... But, he does look a decent long term punt for us considering Friedel/Cudicini's age and Gomes days numbered.

We should be looking in the summer for Krul though, he will want #1 promises and Friedel deserves that until the end of the season.

I think Aguero was a a big agent ploy because quite soon after that story he signed a new contract on bigger money with a bigger clause (didn't stop him going in the summer!)

Krul would be a good signing, would not say he is better than Friedel - who's presence in that goal has made a world of difference to our defence.

Again like with Vorm its only been 6 months...Andy Carroll got a £35m move after 6 months and that looks a terrible deal now. Friedel can't go on forever but I would see no reason to think about replacing him yet

I don't know what their finances are like after buying Cisse, but Ashley can't seem to resist when anyone waves a wad of fifties in front of him.

I'm sure I read somewhere over the weekend that he signed a new 4 year deal in 2010 and the club wanted him to sign a new one now which so far he has resisted doing. Maybe he is looking to move in the summer.

Personally I prefer what I have seen from Krul this season. Younger than Vorm, looks a mucb bigger presence in goal. See how he goes rest of the season. But if he could be got for £15m, and be our keeper for 10 years, its a great deal.
I would ask why he would leave Newcastle though. Its all going so well for him. Newcastle are definitely on the up. Why risk it all? Unless of course he is forced out as Newcastle want the money.

Signed 4-year deal in July 2010.

I think Newcastle are very comfortable, Ashley must be making money on them and negotiations-wise he seems to have learnt fairly well from our man.

He makes sure that it's alot of fifties though.

Out of interest, what does everyone reckon we'd get Krul for £££?

The price being bandied about is a cool 15 million.
