I'm pleased as punch! I reckon the boys are gonna be flying against Newcastle after this result :-D
Was a bit worried as it seemed to be hanging over the team against L'pool but their tails will be up now and hopefully for the rest of the season too!

I think that's probably the biggest moment in our season so far. What a year old Harry's having!!! The man with the Midas touch... :)

For those that were hoping for a guilty verdict, but with some kind of suspended sentence, this was by far the best outcome we could have hoped for. Straight forward, no distractions or disruptions, Harry re-energised with his Heart op and with this monkey off his back, the only way is up!!

As for HMRC there have to be serious questions asked about that rabble of incompetents. To not only bring him to trial but to try and hit him with the biggest stick they had, and to fail, when in all likelihood had they just asked him to pay the tax he would have is frankly inexcusable. I hope heads roll all the way to the top!

I think you have the wrong target. It is the job of the CPS to assess the merits of a case and the CPS solicitors determine the charge. The investigating authority (whether Police, HMRC or Immigration) are often frustrated by the CPS refusing to prosecute or downgrading the charges. As the Bluemoon QC posted, they should only bring a case when there is an 80% chance of success.

I was surprised when the case was brought for such a comparatively small amount of tax. As you suggest, HMRC could probably have 'persuaded' Harry to pay the tax and warned him of his future conduct. The CPS should have provided this advice to the HMRC.

Doubt if any heads will roll but there will be a post mortem at the CPS. They don't enjoy losing high profile cases.

Harry just said Hearing us singing his name at Wigan was the most moving moment of his football life

This still raises the question, why sign Peter Crouch? Something very dodgy going on.

In my opinion he will now take the England job in the summer. I'm as certain as I can be about that without actually knowing something.

Even if that's the case, hopefully we'll have secured CL football by then so will be in as good a position as we've ever been to attract a top class manager to try and take us forward.

Said he will never forget the moment against Wigan when we sang his name. I found myself shouting at the telly "then please don't go to England Harry!"

Anyone else think that this could really pull the whole club together now for the rest of the season to ensure we get top 3, can you imagine the joy of the lads at training feeling like we are now!

Screw the top 3, lets hope it galvanises us and we go on a good run and go for the top spot!

Huge storm cloud lifted - yes, it could have a really positive effect on the team for the rest of the season.
