They will go for more I think...

We lose not only Corluka and Kranjcar, but subsequently Modric will ask to leave as I'm sure he wants to play CL anyways and now that his 2 best friends are gone, he's not exactly gonna be happier. Then once Modric goes we lose our Croatian fan base. This deal could actually have a ton of money at stake.

We have a couple of Croats in our youth set-up, are, reputedly, looking at the likes of Kovacic, and have a relationship with Dinamo Zagreb - selling those three won't be the end of our involvement with Croatia.

Yep. And in terms of fan bases, the Croatian population is small - just over 4 million - so it's not of the same order as say, China or India, even allowing for expats...

This friendship argument is largely exagerated. Luka will have plenty of friends at the club and probably across Europe too. He doesn't need his fellow countrymen to hold his hands. I doubt if those 2 leave it would change things with Luka. If hew wants to leave it will be for football or money reasons.

You are right about Krankjar; Corluka, however, is a particular and long-standing friend of Modric - even frequently described as best friends (awwwwwwwwww ).

I don't think it matters, anyway, because I, personally, have resigned myself to him going. If he is still here in August, I will treat it, almost, like a new signing.

Isn't Leandro one of those co-owned players? That's probably the reason Internacional want so much for him because a % will go to his representatives.

I know he's friends with Corluka but i'm saying it doesn't matter. Being friends with someone in football doesn't determine where you go.

It's like Mascherano and Tevez coming over to England together. One went to Utd and the other to their bitter rivals, Then the other crosses Manchester and the other went to Spain.

Same with Vertonghen. He'll gladly sign for us even though his good friend plays for our rivals (much like Ramsey and Bale).

Arsenal bid for Joe Allen is interesting!

Honestly think it will take £18-20million now to get Damiao, regardless of who is or isn't interested in him because he's happy to stay and Inter don't need to sell.

Based on what?

We don't really know no one else is interested do we? Besides, Inter don't really need the money with the way the Brazillian economy is at the moment, do they.

I see Remy has said he would still be interested in coming to us without CL football, Is the Daily Mail though

I know it's not the decisive factor - just pointing out that Modric and Corluka are , supposedly, notably tight.

Like I said, though, I am pretty resigned to Modric leaving (and will treat as new signing, almost, if he stays), so I don't really think it's important,TBH.

I can see a few more loan outs again. I can only see Bentley and Jenas going back out on loan seeing as they both got injured and never had chance to impress on loan. I can't see anyone wanting to sign either until they've loaned them first.

The likes of Saha and Nelsen were just stopgap signings so either or both could be sold if we get adequate replacements. Bassong will surely be sold too. One of Cudicini or Gomes will go. Giovani will finally leave this window imo. I can see Corluka leaving and possible Kranjcar.

I think we will definitely shift more players than normal this window. Bearing in mind that several players were already on loan anyway so it's not quiet like we're losing players from last season.

I know he managed it with Begovic, but I'm not sure even Levy could manage to sell players we don't own (both are now free agents).

thats fine. King stay though. Gallas and King can be our Europa league CB's and our CArling cup and FA cup ones too on our quest for a quadruple. COYS

Ok then. Gallas and King as 5th and 6th choice CBs. Both on £60k+ pw. Verts' wages also added to our wage bill.

Do you want this, or would you rather we could afford Ade, Leandro and Remy etc?

I'd consider it objectively (rather than sentimentally) and decide King is sadly no longer worth the wages. I'd sacrifice a 6th high earning CB to fund wages for a 2nd or 3rd forward.

Then King should be offered a pay as you play deal + a coaching role in between. Simples. He will still be useful to us, just like Rio has managed to play for Man Utd. It's more than just sentiment. He simply is MR Tottenham, and getting rid could have more negative effects than positive.
