sumbitch!

Why are you censoring me Jedi. This is like the time publishing houses censored me by not publishing my book Kuru, Shmuru.....How to prepare Human Flesh for Consumption in the 21st Century by calling it "creepy", "disturbing" and "we have contacted the FBIey" and I will not be censored!

Good catch JM. It's too bad though :(

Heh, PUTJ was one of my fave songs growing up so I had to say something. You could be onto something though.

Pump up the Jam - Technotronic - Techno Tron Nic

We're getting Bill Nic back and he's going to be managing up from the Tron program world!

It does seem odd that De Jong or Remy aren't really targets any longer.

I do wonder where we will look for a striker now.

No matter how big of a 'warchest' the new manager is given it won't change the fact we can't pay big wages so I doubt we'll be targeting top stars.

It doesn't limit us though as there are a lot of players with serious potential whom we could sign who are on small weekly wages.

Vertonghen, Sigurdsson, Remy etc.

With a warchest, we can spend money on those while still being able to sign that one person on a big wage. Ade?

I'm guessing that Remy is too expensive and maybe de Jong as well. We will know how much we think they are worth and if their clubs are asking for a lot more money than what we are prepared to offer then it makes sense that we would be looking elsewhere.

Alternatively our new manager has said who he would like and they aren't on that list!

I don't think Levy necessarily wants a manager to be in direct day to day control of all teams, I think he wants a philosophy overseen by a manager so that kids/U18's/U20's teams all play with a similar system and philosophy so they are better prepared to make the transition and therefore more likely to realise some kind of value to the team (or return on development investment).

The same way Ajax, Barca or Arsenal develop and produce young players for example.

At least I hope that's what it means.

So I expect soon, we will start to get the chronic complainers who spam about spam. Seeing as I was bitch slapped for asking people not to talk about a game, and accepted my admonishment, I no longer care what people post here. That's the mods job and if they see fit, they will stop tangents.

So I will bet 100 pounds we can't go 24 hours without somebody spamming about spam. Last night it got pretty bad and mean-spirited. By 9:45 EST tomorrow if there is not one piece of "shut up"ery, I will promptly pay Rob. But if there is (and that angry/bitter retort you're about to post counts), I am spending it on nipple botox. Also, if you post a similar bet about no spam within the 24 hours, I won't pay. But I would accept that bet after 9:30 tomorrow if anybody will back it up with real cash. That obviously doesn't count for mods. And mods, Rob approved this.

The point of this exercise is to stop the incessant bleating about how to police this thread when the Mods do a fucking fantastic job as it is. When Ever [sic] or A&C speak, all things stop. When non mods speak, it just starts flame wars. No good for anybody here.

So remember, Rob has to move the server and that costs money. And 100 pounds goes a long way.

if you look at the announcement of Tim Sherwood as Technical Co-ordinator (2008 so do not get nervous), this is a reasonable paraphrasing of TS' role.

What makes you so confident that our manager isn't going to be a large duck?

Even JJ himself said that he respected the fighting qualities of large ducks.
Ah possibly the Italian Drake Mallardi

Mentioned a rumour from the twatter thread, so i'm guessing it was either deleted by mods as I posted the question in the wrong thread or JJ requested to delete it?

If it's the first then I apologise mods!

what was the answer?

I'm pretty sure that's it and that the sentence was simply badly worded. After all, it's been clear for a long while that Levy admires the Arsenal model and is great chums with David Dein (although he doesn't possess Dein's football nous). It just seemed to me that it's one of those pieces of ITK that reads plausibly but is actually something just about any of us could have put together with no inside knowledge at all; the claim that Bostock has only just got God simply isn't true, though, and he also got married last year, so there's no new girlfriend. After that, you can only wonder about the rest.

No, he said in reply to a poster who wanted assurances that it would NOT be Martinez

I think you''re dreams will come true or words to that effect

The trouble with it as it stands (or stood under Redknapp) is what "philosophy/methodolgy/system" was being overseen by Sherwood ?

For example, two seasons ago our youth played Arsenal's youth in a semi at WHL. Our youth (containing Bostock etc) was being hailed as the best around. Arsenal's came and gave us a footballing lesson. But what struck any observer most of all was how they played within the same approach as Arsenal's first team. The pressed us better, they moved more intelligently and they passed the ball better.

What philosophy was running through our set up from kids upwards ? Watching the displays in europe last season you could see the same failings manifest. Some decent players but a lack of cohesion, a lack of discipline, no real tactical awareness or aptitude.

To be fair, JJs comments on Remy/De Jong were a bit of a surprise and not a welcome one. Even if we re-sign Ade we need more depth in the strikers. Until now , all the ITK had been pointing to at least Remy being a distinct possibility. JustinSignal is raising a valid concern.

We can only hope that either the new manager has specified other options that are being worked on, or that we can expect an injection of funds that puts better targets in reach from a financial perspective. Hopefully, we have made good progress on the defence and midfield, but without a couple of strikers, we are going to struggle to make top four
