@jetsetyid have we agreed to buy moutinho in jauuary?
The original JJetset @jetsetyid
@VILLOS_BOAS no
I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in Russia since their window is still open.
I don't think he'll go to Russia and I don't think we'll sign him in January either. Destined to be another 'what if' transfer imo.
this one is going to run and run.
Porto sound like a nightmare to deal with. Last minute price hike, followed by a "paperwork problems" on our part. The gods are not in favour of this transfer
Yes indeed. Was thinking how tasty the team would have looked with Rafa as the no10 ahead of Sandro and Dembele. Stick Moutinho in there with them instead and we'd be looking arguably even more fearsome. Take both Rafa and Mouts out of the equation though and, well, the gulf in class is stark. It's unusual that one player should alter the whole complexion of a team so vastly, but I do think that this is one such case. With Moutinho or VdV I'd be extremely excited for the season ahead. Considering we did some great business elsewhere I would likely have made us favourites for fourth. Without Mouts or Rafa though I'm left extremely concerned that we won't even make top six. I do think it makes that big a difference. Rafa was the key for us, as too would Moutinho have been.
JM watchers!
Who's better JM or Luka?
Do/can they do a similar job?
What I don't get about the posters who are on prozac because we didn't sign him is that he was hardly on any Spurs fans lists until very recently. There was a poster who started a thread on him in 2008 but it wasn't like he's recently set the World alight and people weren't yelling for him after the Euros.
Don't get me wrong I would have welcomed his signing and if AVB wants to bring in his player in a key position then I can understand that but it's just if we spent all the Modirc money on him we wouldn't be getting a player of equal value.
All i will say is if , Moutinho was a better player than Modric, why did UTD and Real Madrid not go after him.
Well it's simply really isn't it.
Deals that can be as complicated as this shouldn't be left to the last moment.
I understand Levy's brinkmanship at times - it has brought us some unbelievable bargains, especially for us.
But when replacing our most important player, with one to be held as equally important.
Just buy him. Fuck saving 2-3m.
It'll cost us more than that by not signing him.
