LOL - You wish your grandma could pass like Huddlestone.

You must be watching a different game to me.

My grandma is all finesse man. :)

The feed I am watching is horrific, but from what I have seen he has had too many heavy touches. Just not a fan of his at the moment. Slow and all he offers is his pass. Wish carrol was on the bench. Would make perfect sense to put him in.

He has given the ball away 3 or 4 times. Especially early on.

I must've missed some of those then. He's controlled our possession a lot better today, moving it on for us at the correct times and being patient when he's needed to. Some decent set pieces into the box as well. He's also looked a bit more mobile today, but the game is suiting him on that front since we are controlling it and they aren't the most physical

Lennon looks excellent, I'm surprised hope he can keep this form going

We look a lot more organised these days.

Even just simple things like players making runs into the box you can very often see 3-4 shirts in the oppo box.

Hudd gave the ball away several times in the start, and passing is supposed to be the one thing he is best at. He is a championchip lvl player, will never be anything else.

Cant understand why so many seem to rate him.

Seriously think Defoe only cares about scoring. If we lose a match 5-3 but Defoe scores all three i believe he would pleased. He should be happy the team scores.

Decent first half, from what I could gather, as it should be versus such a poor side. Would like to see Hudd off as he is like my grandma out there.

Huddlestone's fine out there. Southampton are giving him time and space like there's no tomorrow.

We should be looking at 4-5 in this game and catching the gooners goal difference.

We really could spank them if they chase the game and Lennon and Bale punish them

I agree, I hope we make a proper effort at completely trouncing them. Too often we'll sit back and be happy about winning when we should be looking to score more goals.

Thats a little harsh... He's a Villa / Sunderland / Spam level player. I'd be happy to keep him as a squad player but come January I'll be a llittle disappointed if he's still in the first team. For me it's the one position on the pitch we NEED to strengthen.

Yes exactly.

Whenever the opponents give him all the time in the world he will be able to do a few decent passes, but in the premiership that hardly happens.

Even when under no pressure he managed to fail a few short passes and give it away. Our most overrated player for years, should be no where near our starting eleven.

Our away performance in the league have been very impressive. This half is no exception. Southampton have had 9 to 10 men behind the ball and we have been able to break them down no problems and have looked a threat. i hope we can start bringing that form to the home matches soon.

Look, I don't think Hudd has had a bad half generally, he just lacks incision and vision when in/around the opponents box, but to say "he's controlled our possession" is just typical over Hudd over hype. He's done no such thing, he's just done a fairly competent job of keeping the ball ticking over in the way that players like Livermore and Jenas would get called useless for doing. Nothing exceptional and certainly not "controlling".
